Nope. It's all marketing, nothing short of gimmicks for purposes of popularity and political correctness. Nobody actually endorses "equality" unless that affords some advantage to him or his own interests. This demonstration is hardly different from the manner in which we present ourselves in public, the personas we produce online, etc. It's all for show or for the sake of manufactured civility. When these guys and gals don these shirts, they feel that they're part of some special segment of society and that they're more civil, enlightened or "woke."
I don’t know how competitive athletes and runners can believe in people are born as blank slates.
It is pretty obvious that some people have more natural talent than others.
This does not mean that they will be the best. Effort and training can get someone far. But someone with the right genetics for a sport and training will bring more success.
The goal is to be the best you can be given your ability.
our laws and how we treat people should be based on we are all equal. But it isn’t true if you look at iq or attractiveness or athleticism.

“Equality” is a word, mot an idea. You can’t “believe in equality.” You can believe that all people are of equal moral worth or that the conscious experiences of all animals should be given equal consideration. But you can’t “believe in equality.”
My guessis that the athletes are promoting something like the equal moral value of all humans, and that is not at odds with them being rich or good at sports.

It is a desire to feel relevant in society and have a sense of power. Many of the individuals who participate in these types of 'activism', are empowered by using force to 'break' their 'opposition'. There is growing evidence of these sorts of behaviors displayed on college campus' across the United States, as well as other environments that have gone as far as professional job settings. Many administrative positions and HR have been abused in similar agenda practices. It is a display of sociopathy.
It is not 'equality' at all... it is about power, and power comes at the hands of useful idiots who are instrumental in the 'revolution' process. The ironic consequence is the useful idiots are the first to revolt when they realize their activism was used, and they are not in control.
The police state does not care about freedom to LGBT--- and other causes... it uses these people to obtain exactly what they believe they are fighting. History has proven this over and over.

Or that people ought to be treated “equally”? Of course, all of this is naturally impossible, as we cannot possibly treat two people equally, let alone billions of individual human beings. It’s a gimmick, as one of the other posters stated.

No "modern intellectuals" think humans are equal in a general sense. In fact, I doubt anyone believes this. We are clearly different heights, have different levels of intelligence, abilities, moral character, etc. You guys are all making strawmen here.
The only sense in which people are equal is that we all deserve to have the same standard applied to us. If we have a law against rape, that law should be applied to everyone in the same manner.
If you want to talk about what "modern intellectuals" think, look at actual modern intellectuals. John Rawls, who was probably the leading philosopher on this sort of stuff over the last fifty years, certainly though inequalities were a good thing. The key, however, was that they be fair. It is fine for doctors to make more money than mechanics because that inequality led to better people choosing to be doctors and everyone benefiting.
