none or these chosen by Kenya for the worlds
Speaking of whom, the Kenyan men's team is Geoffrey Kirui, Laban Korir, Paul Lonyangata, Amos Kipruto, and Ernest Ngeno.
Kirui is the defending World Champion and winner of 2017 Boston Marathon, and also famously overtaken by Yuki Kawauchi at 2018 Boston. Does he belong on top 10 based on the work of previous 2 years?
What about Kipruto? He was 2nd at Berlin and 3rd in Tokyo in 2018.
Kirui at 36 seems to me to be getting slower. I thought he was the second best marathoner at Boston but came 5th in almost 2.09. Neither this website nor their contributor, David Graham, chose him among their top 10 on performances last year. Amos Kipruto also didn’t make the 2018 top ten of either, but his result in Prague was a good addition to his two runs last year and I would rate him just outside these ten. Definitely both top 15, for me.
Thinking about 11-15. Who have you got?
First thoughts, not final yet: Leule G., G.Kirui, Kipkemoi, rupp, and a. Kipruto. No particular order. Considering tola, kipsang, ekiru, and a few others.
Tola in, Leule G. out. more soon.
Definitely no kipsang in the top 20 anymore.
