Now that I'm done with my first Boston and after 1.5 years of marathon-only running, I would like to get back into the shorter, faster stuff for a while before shooting for a flat, fast 'thon in the fall.
There aren't any summer marathons near me, and I've heard good things about PRs from marathoners who have taken a season to race fast. However, I'm a runner that really loves and does well on high-mileage training ; 80-105 mpw seems to be my sweet spot.
Can anyone recommend a training plan that combines both 5K / 10K centric workouts with a high weekly mileage base? If there isn't such a thing, does anyone here have any experience training like that (e.g. D1 XC guys)? How did you structure your weeks and workouts?
Thanks for the help, and happy running!
