Centro had hardly been injured til 2017 and he had an illness in conjunction with his hamstring problems. He got back to decent health in 2018 winning USA's and running 3:31. Centro was banged up late 2018, but he's back running now and should be fine for worlds unless he gets injured again.
You lose all credibility if you think he was hardly injured until 2017.

From the way he managed Rupp's achilles problem, Salazar is a stone cold idiot.
Rupp must have been running on it for a long time with pain, because when they finally pulled him he had to have surgery and his dr put out some weird statement about Rupp's achilles being so effed up that he must have the highest pain tolerance the dr has ever seen.
The whole thing just feels like heaps of stupid on top of stupid.
Training at the elite level is dangerous, period. But yeah, BTC's injury rate has been high lately and the men have faired worse. From their published statements on training, it looks like pretty much every session is brutal. Maybe they need to back off and cruise some tempo intervals? The other problem I see is that the most talented athletes they get often didn't run super high mileage in college, and that can lead to destruction at the elite level. We are just speculating here, it would be nice if someone in their group would be more public about their training and injury prevention info. They are one of the more reclusive pro groups and that is not good for the sport. At least the women post a lot but it often isn't informative regarding training.

If true it's possible he didn't mention it because he was able to run on it.
you see this same thing happen with the top college programs. U of A, Oregon, NAU. They get all the recruits they need, so they filter them out with cookie cutter approach, and most will get hurt, but the few that don't will be world class. I think jerry is taking the same approach. Where else are they going to go? NOP has the whole doping thing hanging over their heads, Nau elite, ZAPP, and a hand full of 10k marathon groups. You have nowhere be there to go if you're middle distance, and want a chance at a championship.
Fortunately Jerry doesn’t 100% endorse them racing marathons while injured like Steve Mangess does.
The self proclaimed “Coaching Guru” Magness says if your tough you can do it. Stress fracture, smash fracture, not an issue if your tough enough and really want it.
Look at Gwen's legs.
Seems like the big kenyan and ethiopian studs are injured less. Maybe we just don't hear about them, but all I can remember is bekele and rudisha recently. has gebremarian and gebriwet and kamworor had big injury setbacks? i'm sure 1500m runners have been injured
Bekele because he was pushing too hard in too short of a time window to prepare for the marathon, a newish event for him.
Maybe the others just fall off the map because they aren't as successful or talented or durable. Perhaps we (USA) spend too much time and resources trying to get athletes to be good when they aren't right for the task at hand. Maybe we just train too much and too hard.
durability is a massive aspect of talent.

he ran 59:47 and a 2:06 twice that year....
The idea that one group gets injured more than this or that other group lacks statistical rigor (any statistical analysis, that is) and is therefore meaningless. It would be pretty hard to compare anyway: sample sizes are too small, no controlling for factors (mileage, history of injury, etc), lack of transparency about training and injuries, and on and on.

Please don't post any intelligent comments on this board.
racing too frequently in h.s. and college. if you're good, you've been taking your body to the edge for eight years. then you turn pro. and guess what? you go over the edge.

I agree with this.
Another factor I haven't seen mentioned on this thread is that women have an on average a higher injury rate than men at all levels (from recreational to elite). Women have a bigger q angle due to their hips that leads to a greater propensity to overuse injuries of the knee/more biomechanical issues from higher mileage, women have a more issues with hormonal balance leading to bone injuries, women are more prone to anemia, and women have lower levels of testosterone which spurs recovery. Most of BTC's most visible athletes are pro-women, and most of the athletes mentioned by the OP are women. Someone else mentioned that fewer of Tinman's athletes are injured, but that group is all men, so one would expect that to be the case. There are certainly exceptions--Ritz is an exceptionally injury prone dude--but on average this is going to be true.

Are you insinuating that he couldn't hang with Fisher and Morgan?
They are pushing the envelope in order to be great. That's going to result in injuries.

Jerry Schumacher's daughter, on the far left, has stronger legs than Gwen.
Hunter did have an injury keeping him out of the BAA race.
