update: NO CHANCE IN HELL. GO RUN DISTANCE TRACK OR GO BACK TO TRI.
peace.
Bad advice to go back to tri. Reason she started running was to spend time with her baby, as triathlon training takes 30-40 hours a week at least (4 disciplines, strength, core, recovery).
She is an expert in endurance events that last ~2 hours (olympic tri), she probably doesn't have the speed to become world class in a 10k. She underperformed in marathon, but that was because she was new to the sport and UNDERTRAINED. Give her some years of solid mileage, training and race experience and she will be a mid 2:2xs runner.

Dude she is basically 34 years old and isn’t even the top 20 of female American marathoners.
She did this to herself though with the arrogant talk of going for gold in 2020....going for gold!
It takes years to master the marathon, years. And she is 2:36 marathoner.
Come on guy. There is nothing here for her.

So, her husband is a stay at home dad, and she doesn't want to work 30-40 a week?
Update:
She's done.
She should try doing a ultra marathon.

Not with YouTube, her strength.
Would still love to see her give Ironman a whirl. May not be durable enough though.

Huh?

How many years did take for shalane to win her first marathon?
And desi?
Yearssss. Winning is mastering.
So going for gold with 1-2 years of marathon is delusional.
I like doing halfs, and I'm not fast. I started off 1:50:xx and 3 years in, I'm only at 1:37:xx.
As you get faster the amount of seconds that drop off are less and less. It's a long way to the top for Gwen and Stanley.

No point. Her teammate, Sarah True, has gone that path so you can virtually live Gwen through her. She keeps frying at the end of the run.
Ironman are about bike and ITU racing is about the run. There is no drafting in ironman's and she was an average cyclist so no guarantee same success in long distance tri where you need to be strong on the bike (no drafting).

Same with Sarah true, who did ITU and Olympics (her maiden name changed since then, fyi)
