3 minutes between reps is a fair bit of rest however 8 x 300 is a very hard workout.
Personally, I use 2 x (4x300) 1 min rest between reps and 5 min between sets as a predictor of what I am in shape for but that workout royally kicks my @$$ but it is a huge confidence builder in the sense that if I can get through that workout at X pace then because it is such a hard workout, I will feel confident that I can *definitely* hit that same pace in a race even on a bad day. Plus, because I find this workout harder than a race, it is also good mental prep.
Aim for 2:03.5
