I have a pair of Red Sox tickets for Friday's game. Great seats for someone in town for the marathon who might be interested in seeing Fenway Park. I will sell them at face value to anyone who may be interested.
Why would anyone want to buy tickets from some random dude on the internet when they can just buy them directly from the MLB for the same price?
The weather looks similar to 2015. That was my best race ever and a lot of runners had a great day. I ran in 2012 (nightmare,) and 2018 (even worse,) Monday doesn’t look too bad.
You must be kidding. The $1000 didn't matter in sunshine, so why would they matter now? Toughen up and run the best race you can.

Ummmm, not a baseball fan but I thought the Red Sox have basically sold out every home game since forever. I know for sure they've gone more than 800 games in a row sold out in the recent past.
I ran a marathon last year under roughly these conditions. Not entirely pleasant, but after a summer of 75F dew points, at I decided that it was just about ideal for not getting dehydrated. Would be better if wind was in opposite direction though...

Their record breaking sold-out streak started in 2003 and ended in 2013 according to official records, however many of us locals know that the it was fake for at least a year prior because although the tickets were "sold", they were only sold to ticket companies like stubhub and THOSE tickets often went unsold begining in 2011 or 2012 until the red sox owners no longer could pretend as if the stadium was full when it clearly wasnt and determined the streak ended on the first game of 2013 after a couple of very bad years of teams. FYI
Boston has the potential to be very fast or pretty slow this year, depending on how quickly this front moves through.
The current timing, which is subject to change of course, has the wind at about 10 mph (a bit stronger than that once you're close to Boston proper), shifting from ESE (predominantly a headwind, but not right in your face) switching to the SW (mostly at your back) by early afternoon. The wind shift will occur at about the same time the rain stops (or at least tapers to a drizzle). Temperature looks like a pretty safe bet at 55 plus or minus a few degrees.
So, if the front moves through a couple hours faster than expected, you're looking at 55 and overcast with the wind mostly at your back...pretty much perfect.
If the front moves through a couple hours slower than expected, you're looking at 55 with a steady rain and a wind mostly in your face...not nice, but not as bad as last year either.
Wave 4 corral 8 here I come.

More like 2011. Expect record times. Tailwind, cool temps, showers not rain?
I can't tell if this is a troll or not. So you're telling me, you have trained for Boston yet haven't trained for the possible conditions either? Running in ALL conditions is a part of training, just as important as training your body, morning routine, food intake etc.
"Go and make the most of it. It will be a day you'll never forget, and that's living."
Whoa, goose bumps! All the other replies pale in comparison.
I ran my qualifying marathon in freezing temps (27 degrees at the start) with 10-15 mph winds (but dry).
Current Boston forecast is good news.
is boston really thought to be a "beautiful" city? it may be, just not actually sure what the perception is from folks who dont live here. also, the majority of the course is pretty depressing suburbia, so if youre coming for the city, id work on trying to get it at some time other than the race...
Some of my best runs have been in the worse weather. They may have not been my fastest runs, but my most enjoyable races. You can’t expect the best weather conditions at every race. Just run!
I would never do this race. You should go to London instead. It is just a few weeks away so save your PB for there. The course is good, weather is much better in London, and the girls are more cute over there.

Hard to get in. Good for age standards only exist for Brits.

No. And let’s be honest, the course is ugly, except for the lake.
The mean comments on this board aren't a good look. I'm glad everyone here is such a warrior. People run for all types of reasons, with different levels of commitment, different financial situations, physical limitations, etc. I personally would never bail on a marathon because of weather (I was in Boston in the heat in 2012, also during a rainstorm in 2007), but that's a personal decision. I would say if you're asking the question, something in you doesn't want to do it. Be true to yourself.
Come on mate give it all you got! Its a race, an opportunity to test yourself-see what your program trained you to do. Let sport bring out the best you have. Good luck and God bless.
