All it takes for you to quit is seeing a forecast? This sport wasn't for you bro.

Agreed. That being said, it's pretty disheartening to see awful weather forecast after you trained months to build up to PR shape.

The forecast plus the $1000 or so I'd save if I didn't go.

So it's all about the money? That's two good reasons this sport isn't for you bro.
I would have never run track in high school if I had your attitude. I think a calm day where I grew up was mid-20s in wind.

Only considering canceling if you plan on signing up for another spring marathon that can benefit from your training cycle. If you wait until the fall or next spring for your next marathon, you might as well just run Boston now since the training will be a waste either way.
please do us a favor and stay at home. Boston is not for you.
Since I'd only be racing the clock, I'd save the $1K if jogging another BQ isn't a problem. Any other bailers still in town on the 18th can get in an 18 mile training run with me on the route William Dawes rode on 4/18/1775 from Boston to Lexington. Unless its raining of course.

Only jamin would fly to Boston and not run. Don't be like him.
I ran it last year. I'd love a do over in those conditions. I know how to run it. But seriously, it's not going to be the same. It's going to be warmer or less wet or less windy. Also, people won't be caught off guard.
Don’t give up on yourself so easily. Last year was my sixth Boston and my best Boston time by three minutes. If you would have asked me at mile 10 I would have told you I was going to jog it in. But I kept ballin and surprised myself. Could happen to you too.
It’s not supposed to be nearly as cold as last year and the wind is looking a lot less fierce. So a little rain and a wee head wind. Better than hot and sunny. Good luck!
I have a pair of Red Sox tickets for Friday's game. Great seats for someone in town for the marathon who might be interested in seeing Fenway Park. I will sell them at face value to anyone who may be interested.
Save $. Boston is a gong show for rec runners ?. You’re focus will be fixed on looking for a place to urinate , stand in you’re pen for hours .

The forecast I'm seeing says 58 with scattered thundershowers. Why would that be enough to consider not running? Are you seeing another forecast?
being an old hobby jogger with a streak going... i'm not even thinking about not doing it
can't be as bad as last year.. or as bad as '04 & '12 in the heat

No, and you're a pu$$y for asking.
It depends what your goal was in signing up. Was it a PR? Because Boston isn't known as a PR course. Was it perfect weather? Boston isn't known for that, either. If you were relying on those things to make the expense worthwhile, you were taking a huge gamble.
The Boston Marathon is known as an iconic race in a beautiful, historic city. You're going to get those elements regardless. You'll get the chance to prove yourself versus others all facing the same conditions. Go and make the most of it. It will be a day you'll never forget, and that's living.

please stay home.
