I am just returning from a 5 week injury layoff from ITBS and was wondering if anyone had any experience of how much fitness I would have lost during this period? I have cross trained on the elliptical using time and effort levels to recreate my runs and my average mileage before injury was 60 miles per week.
Also unsure how to manage a comeback, run at same frequency as before injury but at reduced pace and mileage or combine rubbing with cross training whilst gradually phasing the later out?
Any previous experience/ advice would be greatly appreciated.
