This course though closer to extreme sports is an excellent corrective to the ridiculous runs on flat, open fields (with some mud) that euro and world xc courses had become.
Was out on the course today.
Leaving aside the water/mud zones, the cheering/Viking tents and the museum roof (which is insanely steep), the natural lay- out of the course in this expansive habitat is wildly hilly and tough. When I meet the course designer tomorrow I plan to say to him, "Where have you been my entire xc life?" Compared to many a course with human-made "hills," this course is a thing of beauty.

The Danes are just showing that there is some actual Viking spirit in them, like their cousinTroll Vikings of the north.
Good for them!

A true legend!
Jakob will not win this race. Mark my words.
Sounds like a Midwest trail run in winter/early spring. Just a mud pit with some rolling hills. Sounds like fun. Should be a great race. Thanks Aarhus, Denmark!

Who said Pro’s never read/post here???
PS- What’s a champion like you doing posting here amongst the basement dwelling-bitter-never-was-try-hards?
Remember "the pit" from the last World XC in Kampala?
The brojos were freaking out about how you needed a ladder to climb out of it.
What happened? Never heard about it once the race got underway.
Same here.
The big boys will fly over that roof, splash their way thru the water and take the turns like it was nothing.
This course is excellent.
Stop the silliness.

young fast track guys do not win tough cross country courses.
especially in mud and water.
anything in the top 30 would be fantastic.
top 10 will make my jaw drop.
I’m sure Jakob won’t even race; doesn’t need to prove himself on the uneven terrain. He’s focused on the world championships later this year. Cross country’s over for him this year. Check his insta; nothing about completion this weekend.

“Not really.”
Going to be awkward for all the elite athletes when they get beat by a local spartan runner or tough mudder who is prepared for the conditions from the mass start

Glad to see Grace Ping still at it. Should be a great experience for her.

Considering no european has finished in the top 10 for the last 25 years that is really not on the table.
Apparently Jakob is hoping for a medal though and daddy Gjert will be dissapointed if he doesn't finish in the top 10.
(Nrk.no today)
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
