These are TEN CONSEQUENCES Frank should face:
1) = He must make a full and public confession (written and/or videotaped and published). He must explain how he did it, why he did it, when he started, who helped, and who knew. Like a felon cutting a deal with law enforcement, he must not leave out any details.
2) = He must withdraw his standing (or self-DQ) from every single race he's been in for the last 10 years, and return every single medal, trophy, prize and certificate. Regardless of whether there is definitive proof of cheating -- or frankly, regardless of whether he actually cheated in any given race -- these withdrawals are part of the consequences for cheating, the deserved penalty for years of serial fraud, dishonor and deception.
3) = His confession must then extend to personal apologies (as in individual letters/calls) to the top 5 runner he "beat" in every single race for the last 10 years. He stole their standing, and needs to beg their pardon.
4) = Next, he must personally apologize to the Race Directors of every single race he "competed" in for the last 10 years.
5) = He must never run in a public race ever again (nor bike nor swim).
6) = He must apologize to his colleagues at Loyola High School and to all the students he ever coached. He must resign from the coaching staff (if he hasn't already) and never coach any sport ever again, anywhere, at any level.
7) = He must resign from any organization or charity wherein he ever promoted himself as a running champion or model via his athletic prowess. He should never work/volunteer within any institution wherein he could possibly mentor minors (U18). In addition, he must remove all references to any running achievements from his resumé, bio and websites, and never make any such claim ever again.
8) = He must personally apologize to any journalists with whom he's communicated about this scandal, for lying and deceiving, and for wasting their time.
9) = He must make a $2,000 donation to MarathonInvestigations.com.
10) = He must pledge to make no money whatsoever from the sale of his story in any medium, in perpetuity.
Seems fair to me -- the only honorable course of action at this point.
