What? So if a runner doesn't want to answer a medical question and doesn't give their consent for the information to go to the coach, your answer is to completely override that and get confidential medical information they've asked not to be given out from their doctor? Thankfully, the real world doesn't work like that.
Sure. But if you don’t answer that medical question to the team doctors, you won’t be competing for that team. True, the coach doesn’t have a right to that info per HIPPA laws...but if you aren’t getting a regular period, more & more doctors/training room staffs are going to pull you from regular practice & competition...then your coach (& everyone else) is going to put the pieces together real quick. But yes, discussing this with your coach is your option.
