He needs RBG's doctor. She's the only person I have heard of that has lived over a year after their diagnosis with pancreatic cancer.

Aretha Franklin lived 5 years.

More than likely. He'll be gone within 6 months.

Depends on the stage at diagnosis.
I have said for years that it's time for Trebek to give up hosting Jeopardy, but not like this. Hope he makes it.
Umm he is older than average lifespan...Every day is a bonus.
What are the early symptoms and how can this be avoided?

Only 2% of those who are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer survive 5 years. My dad was extremely lucky and survived 17 years after diagnosis. His oncologist told him that he never knew anyone who had survived that long.

The problem with pancreatic cancer is that there are rarely any symptoms and by the time that someone is diagnosed with it, it has usually spread throughout the body.

What he really needs is RBG's luck. Her pancreatic cancer was spotted on a CAT scan during an routine exam. It was spotted so early that surgery actually made sense. In most cases, pc isn't discovered until it's too late for surgery. That is why so few (10%?) of pc patients get surgery.
Interestingly, her recent cancer was also discovered during a scan for an unrelated issue.
"The life expectancy for stage 4 pancreatic cancer is very low and is worst among all forms of cancers. The median survival rate for patients with stage 4 pancreatic cancer is about 3 to 5 months."
Cancer sucks. I wish him the best, as I enjoy the show (and the SNL spoofs) and I know what it is like to see someone fight cancer.

Indeed. 98 of 100 of those diagnosed are dead within 5 years. Steve Jobs had an unusual form of pancreatic cancer, neuroendocrine tumor or islet cell carcinoma, and that is why he survived a while with it.

Wouldve survived earlier but be thought he could beat it with some gypsy hack type holistic healing.
On his deathbed he said he regretted not going the traditional route earlier and later that day he passed away.

Who is Patrick Swayze?
He lasted 20 months but was a lot younger than Trebek at the time of his diagnosis:

correct exactly, yet the media uses it as more evidence of how "tough" she is, "overcame" it etc.
