This guy is still probably only in his 20's, right?
Is he officially done? If so, it's a pity as he was so incredibly talented.
Wasn't he with Schumacher who is known for hard training?
It just seems this guy could get on a "basic" low intensity program designed to avoid injury and still be great.
Was he getting injured off extremely easy training? What were the injuries?
How about something very low intensity:
Monday AM- Easy 10k
Monday PM- 45 minutes jog, strides, drills and stretching
Tuesday AM- Easy 10km
Tuesday PM- 12 x 400m @ Threshold w/30” rec
Wednesday AM- Easy 10km
Wednesday PM- Easy 10km, drills, strides and plyo
Thursday AM- Easy 10km
Thursday PM- 5 x 1000m
Friday AM- Easy 10k
Friday PM- Easy 10k
Saturday AM- 2 x 10 x 200m hills
Saturday PM- Easy 8k
Sunday AM- Easy 15k
Example sessions include
3-6 minute threshold reps.
20 x 200m hill reps (60 sec jog back recovery).
Weights twice weekly.
Drills and short sprint work on a regular basis
