I can't tell who you're trying to correct, but both Wejo and I indicated he ran on a 200m flat track. Yes, I know it was neck and neck with Stahr. The track was not banked in '83.
Nobody is trying to take anything away from him, 2:23 is amazing no matter what, even if some other kid was running 2:20 in HS right now.
I wish people would scale back these attacks, it really takes away from conversation. I was simply taking the chance to talk up Irish as I think having the 600 and 1k national records along with a 8:16 3k is absolutely wild. That 8:16 could be close to sub 8 on a banked 200.
