M, 33, 5-6, 160ish. Diet has been good, weight has been stubborn. Ballooned to 165 to open the year, down 4 or 5 lbs. I was hitting the bottle hard last year and have drastically reduced consumption. Gave myself a pass on sugar as a result
A few shout-out's after missing the past 2 weeks.
JTA: Going back a couple weeks, thanks for the recommendation on the heel strike for the foot enduring PF. That's actually helped quite a bit the past couple weeks. Also, the sub-20 will come. Keep putting in the work and enjoying the process.
Coach Jeff: I saw that 162km week a couple weeks back followed another strong week. Holy cow, man. Keep it up!
OR: A stone's throw from 90 recently, my goodness! Congrats on the 5k PR and W. Very much looking forward to Boston. I really enjoy all of your easy 12 milers clicking sub-730's through blizzards, ice storms, tundras, and other natural disasters. Really envious.
JQ: Nice PR and another holy moly on the mileage.
DW: A PR's a PR! Congrats on the win, even if the time doesn't equate to your desired result. I'm running Chicago's Shamrock Shuffle in 4 weeks, will be first 8k, so a guaranteed PR. Love all the supplementary yoga / swimming you do. At some point, I'm going to pick-up swimming, but today that would require a gym membership, excuse, excuse
Stone: How did the second run go? You've put together an impressive string of workouts and mileage lately, hope pumping the breaks serves you well.
Gordon: The paces you're clicking off seem to indicate you're headed for a major leap. Love the progress you're making.
Bruin: From the outside looking in, you seem to be a little in your head. Your body of work over the past few months is tremendous. We've never met, but I can feel a sub-2:40. GET IT.
PR's: 39:54, 1:25:54, 2:59:15
Goals: solid 8k March 24, 5k April 27, and sub 1:25 half May 4th. Chicago Marathon in the fall.
Battled PF with all my might the past couple weeks. Two weeks ago, took M-F off, managed 11.5 Saturday and Sunday. Last week, did 30 over 5 runs, never going beyond 8 miles. Full week this week and the PF behaved itself. A lot of weights, core, mobility, foam rolling between.
