Yep,
Said it before and I’ll say it again;
He’ll tip the scales at 175 in twelve months.

Does this really surprise anyone at this point? Sad to see.
Nope, but at least he didn't wait for the race and get another cute DNF

That is really annoying to see. I was really looking forward to him destroying the field in Tokyo. I guess we will have to wait. Hopefully he is gets an epic marathon in before the end of the year. The Olympics are next year so hopefully he will get better as the year goes on and next year he can get Gold and hopefully get the WR. It really sucks that we won't get to see him next week.
World record?....Either you are trying to be funny, or you are totally delusional.
I bet he’d DNF, so is my bet now voided?

I'm not giving up on Bekele without a fight. He is the greatest. He has more left in him. Renato Canova said only a few months ago that he is capable of 2:01:30 and after Amsterdam Jos Hermens said he is just as talented as Kipchoge. If he clears his injuries and gets someone to do his business work he will destroy everyone again.
Are you a troll with a registered handle or just plain stupid on the subject of elite running? Do you run? Have you a clue, even one clue about elite running? Idiot.
Are you a troll with a registered handle or just plain stupid on the subject of elite running? BOTH
Do you run? MAYBE
Have you a clue, even one clue about elite running? NOPE
What about Dubai 2017? Wasn't he in top shape for that? Wasn't that his best preparation, but he had some start issues.
That's what he said at the time but who knows. Athletes are hardly going to go in a race, especially a long race like the marathon, giving their opponents some "intel" they can use against them.
Bekele's running technique from the track not completely conducive to road running/training?

Do you run? Yes, I do run. I'm a sub elite and train everyday(almost). Aiming for a 72 minute half mary this year.
Have you a clue, even one clue about elite running? NOPE
Yes. Why would I be on letsrun if I didn't? How could I be here this long without learning anything about elite running too? I'm competitive enough to know about it, even if I'm just at the sub elite level myself.
Tell me why you think it is stupid. I know about Renato Canova(who posted here after Amsterdam that he believes Bekele can go 2:01:30). After Amsterdam Jos Hermens said Bekele had the talent Kipchoge has. This information is already available in other threads moron. Also if you look at all the surprise achievements of Bekele you wouldn't give up on him now.

Bekele's is body is perfect the way he is. He is training well but is just unlucky with the injuries. It's because he doesn't dope. If he doped like most elites then he wouldn't get so many injuries and would always destroy everyone. The article said he has strong motivation so is obviously training hard. I hope he bounces back and maybe does a fast marathon in the fall. He could do Amsterdam again. Tokyo is going to be a really boring snooze fest without him now. Not worth watching.
If he could of literally lost some of that chubby flab then he literally could of literally run this race (or at least half of it before dropping out like he literally always does)
He’s literally fat, old and washed up. No one cares anymore
Bekele isn't fat and anyone who says so is a weirdo. First of all you haven't seen him without clothes. Everyone on this thread is fat themselves. I wish you people would DNS posting on letsrun ever again. I'm going to DNF with this thread now and talk to friends on other threads.

If you believe Bekele can still run a 2:01:30 marathon, I have some ocean front property in arizona I like to sell to you.
Going to leave this here...

Who is that guy in the picture with Bekele. Is he a runner? They look like good friends. I wish I could be that guy beside Bekele. They look like they are happy.

Arizona doesn't have a coastline idiot
Sign of aging. This is what happens when you get old. On top of all the races he ran over the years.
so who wins?
he would have to drop two minutes from his best to beat chumba and tura
