And wassup with Jorgensen? 10K cross should be a sweet spot for her.

Too bad it's going to be behind a paywall. USATF should get those rights to NBC, their coverage is questionable but having all the events in one place would help grow viewership of the sport.

2012 W marathon trials was pretty good in retrospect.

I think the "Road to Gold" 8-mile preview event in Atlanta on March 2nd might top this, it's going to "steal" many names from the 15K champs a week later (in any case this is going to be a great year for distance)

is the real secret many of them are just doing XC for the USATF circuit points?

it's not a difficult course, but xc definitely carries more risk than road or track events and some people don't do well on soft surfaces

also unlikely we'll see vaporflys in use which means the playing field is more level

but if they all do it as a pack for the first five miles and then try to outkick each other on the last loop I think I might be rather upset

Huddle doesn't usually play those games though, so she might keep it honest

I'm also curious to see what Aliphine can do, she is coming back strong from a long injury downtime

Kastor was really good.

That 2007 race was definitely stacked. Main difference was that for some of those girls, mainly Flanagan and Goucher, their careers were only starting to really take off. They hadn't yet achieved those key milestones at the time of the race, though that changed quickly as Flanagan got the 5000 AR and Goucher got her 10000 silver that summer.

From a historical perspective the 1984 US Olympic Trials Marathon in Olympia, WA is the greatest.

You may not be old enough to remember but in 1996 the Olympics were held in Atlanta. So pick any race like 1500, 5k, 10k and they all had more than 6 Olympians in the race. In fact, those races were composed of 100% Olympians. Do you even follow running?

Why would you take this team? 2nd place was a minute behind first. If first was a world record holder, than maybe yeah. But again, 2nd trailed first BY A MINUTE!
