I emailed the site creator about bookmarking specific routes and he said he is working on it and might have it done in the next week or so.
Hi Scott-
My team and I actually don't do any of our training by distance, it's all duration-based. Have found it really helps to cut down on the whole ego side of training (i.e. "well how many miles did YOU train this week"). Some of our intervals are distance-based but even a lot of our interval workouts are more like 3x10:00 or fartlek type stuff. We do use your idea of random marks to check pace some. There's a bikepath in the area with accurate half miles, so a few times a month we'll do a workout there and use the marks to gauge fitness and perceived effort.
The reason I was looking for this tool is I did a bike tour this weekend on dirt roads. It was advertised as 50k but all the course markings said 60k. Terrain was tough, very hilly, and we were riding mountain bikes not road bikes, so it was slow going. I had expected we'd be able to do 50k in 2:30 or so but we were out there 3:45. I wanted to confirm that it was actually closer to 60k than 50k.
Pretty impressive, I measured some of my routes and they were fairly accurate. In a few spots I have unfocused or greened out pics. Any ideas of why they are like this? (all the pics around them are OK).
