I would think he would want to try something different. I would love to see him run a tactical race like Boston. We all know he’s fast. Cement your legacy by winning all 6 WMMs.

Yeah, cause his legacy isn't secure already?
Maybe he feels like he hasn't mastered London yet. Can always run faster. The competition always changes. Thrives on the competition.
London is the best marathon each year. I'd prefer he keeps running it instead of lesser fields like Boston.
... when I clicked on this I just knew there was going to be some mention of Boston before I'd even read the content!
I really don't think it can be appreciated by Americans, and emphasized enough, just how much of a non event Boston is viewed by the rest of the World. Totally get from reading on here that it's a big deal for you guys but I just don't really think it for anyone else.
The only way you'll ever see any top, top athletes performing there is if they offered an absolute shed-load of cash to take part. The prestige just isn't there for non Americans.
I'm fine with his choice of london. They're probably paying him a ton as world record holder and defending champion.
Now in the Fall, I'd like him to switch it up and not do Berlin again. COME TO AMERICA! Chicago or New York, I don't care. (would prefer Chicago though)
See, I'd much rather him come to New York.
Sure it's a slower course, but the NYC Marathon is the most famous marathon worldwide, moreso than Boston. It's WAY more well-known than Chicago. Think about the media (like Kipchoge cares about this) that would cover him running NYC.
I want to see Kipchoge run against the deepest fields which means London in non-Olympic years. I think the better question is what would he have to accomplish running Berlin again now that he has the world record.

I'm fine with that. London every Spring and whatever he wants in the fall.

It's the only spring marathon he has competition at and is the most prestigious. Wtf does tactical even mean? Every race is tactical whether you run away from the field at the gun or sit in a group for 25 miles. If you mean slow, he's already won the Olympics. London 2016 I'd argue was him holding back and waiting to push on as he was with Biwott at 40k before lifting it.
When he can just run away from everyone in the world, he doesn't need to surge or wait to kick a mile or 400 to go to prove anything to some guy on a messageboard, he's too busy winning.
It's like that atitude around here when Mo was on the track. The whole why doesn't he try to front run away from everyone. The stupidity of it is incredible like Mo Farah cared about proving something to a load of anonymous people on a messageboard while collecting 6 world titles and 4 olympic golds.
London is a bigger and better race against a more quality field.
Respect to Boston but outside of America it barely makes a ripple.

I'd venture to guess that his main focus is Tokyo 2020. Why change the formula that continues to work? Look for a NYC appearance in 2021.
Yeah I think the only people who care about Boston are people from Massachusetts.
London is the toughest field in the world right now. Dubai is close. But London in my mind is the unofficial world championship. And maybe they just do things really well for Eliud and he finds it convenient?
Other than money, what do accomplish with showing up for work tomorrow?
Hopefully you have an answer, but what's wrong with doing something in large part because you're getting paid?

I believe the year was 1993 and couple of guys by the name of Raekwon, Method Man and Inspectah Deck introduced us to the concept of C.R.E.A.M. (Cash Rules Everything Around Me) and it involved the concept of "Get the Money".
Truer words have never been uttered.

He’s a PROFESSIONAL runner. Money matters more than anything. Doing something different doesn’t pay the bills.
Where’s boston?

Exactly. Which is why American marathoners run AMERICAN marathons (Boston, Chicago, NY). C.R.E.A.M. - CREAM get the money, dolla, dolla bills y'all.............

Weather issues aside, who in Boston isn't he last five years do you think would've beaten him?
A chance to make Mo Farah his b*tch on Mo's home course is epic.
His motivation is forcing the city of London to watch him as he proceeds to absolutely obliterate the best runner they'll ever have.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
