So on my run today, I was thinking about Centro's switch to the Bowerman Track Club and suddenty I had a revelation. Does this move mean that Rupp might actually be clean?
Rupp? Yes, I mant to type Rupp and not Centro.
Hear me out.
We all know that Jerry and Alberto do not get along mainly because Jerry thinks Alberto is shady as heck and wants no part of a doping program. I -like Jerry probably does - just assumed the group is dirty.
But if the NOP group is dirty, why in the heck would Jerry accept Centro? He would either end up tarnishing Jerry with a positive test or if he got clean it would tarnish Jerry's image as Centro would be no good.
So in my mind, Centro to the BTC definitely means that Jerry thinks Centro is clean.
And if Centro is clean then does that mean the whole group is clean?
That seems like a real possibility.
What are the other alternatives. Could it be possible that only the innermost or key most members are dirty (Rupp/Farah) while other (Kara/Centro) are clean? That's something I've never understood.
Serious question - Does Centro switching to BTC mean that Alberto Salazar, Galen Rupp and the NOP might actually be clean?

Why would you ever suppose that BTC is entirely clean and that Jerry would turn away an athlete under investigation and subject to target testing? Add the factor that it means he sticks it to Alberto in the process. No love lost there.
Elite track and field is a dirty pursuit. Don’t think any different. -
He accepted centro to catch him and.prove that NOP is dirty

I don't think Salazar has ever intentionally done any illegal doping with Rupp. Gray area? Sure. Not illegal, however. I'd say that Farah likely went rogue in a pharmaceutical program as he started to work closer with Aden. The connection between Aden and drugs is undeniable. The connection between Aden and Farah is equally as unarguable. Draw your own conclusion.

You're assuming Centro is clean.

It is pretty clear that he broke rules with l-carnitine and possibly Androgel. -
Jager’s more likely to be doping than Rupp is. Why do you think BTC is clean?

Or he will just monitor Centro’s test levels like he does with other athletes.

Don’t believe this contrived narrative that Alberto is the devil and Jerry an angel. Jerry is as cut throat as Alberto just has some social cues enough to be unbelievably fake in public. The only world relevant runner (Jager) of BTC was on that Russian leak of probable PED users.

+1
Jager wasn't just on there, he was ranked as the most suspicious likely doper of them all, whereas Rupp was just a normal likely doper. -
Assumptions built on top of other assumptions. Yep, that's typical Letsrun logic.

My question is this: what the hell is Salazar doing that is so awful to get Centro to leave the program that made him the gold medalist in the last Olympics? Similarly, what the hell did Salazar do that was so awful that it got Farah to leave the program that took him from relative no name to most dominant distance runner in a decade. People don't leave programs that give them massive success with a good reason.

The answer should be obvious: their marketability for Nike as part of their Oregon Project had peaked. Nike is the ultimate turn and burn sponsor, moving you to a less green pasture if not off their ranch entirely.

You think about this waaaayyyy too much.

Fact: since his earliest days in college centro has been consulting Salazar about grey area PEDs
Fact 2: centro has relocated several times in the recent past and has now ended up right back in a Portland based training group where suspicions of PED use are already prevelant.
Fact 3: centro, his father, and Salazar are very close.
Centro can end up being coached by mother teressa, doesn't change the fact that he did cheat, will cheat and continues to rub elbows with cheaters.
One thing I do agree with, he does look good in red, compliments his steroid acne quite nicely -
L-carnitine isn't a banned substance.
The androgel story isn't believable. -
No. Did you not read the New York Times article? Ritz pretty much admits NOP was doing gray zone doping. And no, BTC is not necessarily clean either. Do you not remember the leaked USADA report named Jager as "likely doping"? Athletes have short careers. Every year is important, particularly when you're closer to the end of your career like Centro is. He had a disastrous 2017 when he failed to get out of the first round of the World Championships and looked bad going it. 2018 was not much better. Salazar and then Salazar/Matt Senior were his coaches those years. It wasn't working anymore. He needed a change. As a Nike athlete he didn't have many places he could jump.

I personally think Jerry's group is more likely to be dirty.
