I don’t know why but this made me chortle. I don’t know the UConn coach or the program. But the fact that someone jumped on just to say that offhand, with no evidence or explanation….this is why I come to letsrun.

Why allow this thread at all if you’re just going to delete every single post?
Most of this thread is insecure losers crying about how mean their coach was. They didn't have what it takes and blame the coaches. Duke may have issues but they aren't bad enough to be mentioned in this thread when there are teams like Central Michigan, Youngstown State, Fairfield, Oklahoma and Arizona State barely finishing teams at regionals.
Angela Reckart from Duke.
Again, no. Duke was top 10 in their region last weekend. They are, at worst, better than about 20+ schools.
9:25 Steeple is about the progression I'd expect from a 16:52 high school 5k runner
The deleted posts were about a coach at a school that has a horse for a mascot and one of the alums is a top American marathoner. I made the mistake of saying his name and he probably reported it, given that none of the others that name a coach have been deleted.
Still doesn't change the fact that he can't develop male talent at all and has to rely on recruiting already developed UK talent in order to be not even close to qualifying his team for nationals.

C.I. from BSU? Why so sensitive?

Thing is though, he's a pretty good coach. So there's that.

Greg Metcalf. I guess he isn't coaching anymore but he seemed like a pretty awful coach.

Not. So. Fast! He's back at Texas & the Longhorns are ranked number 5 going into this weekend's national cross country championships.
Did anyone say Robert Gary? He has a fully funded, distance only program that just got 8th in the pretty weak SE Regional behind Charlotte and this thread's favorite choice Duke. Not just this year either, they miss nationals routinely and when they make it they bomb (I think they were DFL more than once).
They get much faster recruits than teams that are dusting them and their track results are even worse. Scores of FL finalists and star track runners go there with a full ride and run like 14:25-45 and are hurt half the time.
FWIW his wife does a pretty good job with the women.
Bryan Berryhill and Scott Dahlberg at Wyoming
7,200 ft and Medicine Bow National Forest right in their backyard. Yet they still have a garbage program
Yea Colgate has fielded some pretty decent track teams. Actually thought they had some scholarships, but I guess not. They must be get tingsome decent NY kids .

All high school and college coaches should read the article above!
Pretty weak Southeast region? That disqualifies your comment right away. It is certainly in the top third in strength of regions so you obviously are not familiar enough with NCAA XC.
Reckart from Duke has no idea what she’s doing. The other coaches in the ACC I know will agree a hundred times over

Dylan Schubert has entered the chat.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
