Doubtful on Boston if you've missed the regular sign ups. They want sub 2:20 for men and sub 2:45 for women...no exceptions even if from New England....they might offer for you to run for a charity bib though.
I noticed about 3 or 4 women that qualified last year and and about 7+ runners in the 240-250 time. I thought that wasn't too bad for a medium sized race. If they do get better crowd support I'd think that'd be helpful especially for anyone running alone/leading.

This is true, I just assumed everyone on here was a male. It is a decent marathon to go for OTQ as a female.
But it is not a spring CIM equivalent on the male side as the real benefit of CIM is having a group of 40+ other people in a pack trying to run sub 2:19. If you somehow got the same number and quality of runners on the Illinois course you might see times similar to CIM, but definitely not with the current level of competition.
