Ovett was clearly suffering from the heat again in the 87 WC. He beat just about everybody over 5000m that season except Aouita.
Ovett was the 24th fastest in '87.
He has not beaten the Nrs.

For Coedeppe this is "just about everybody". (yes, he has not raced all, but this was not the point)
This unbelievable character since two years is destroying almost every thread he appears. To support his beloved idols Coe, Cram and especially Ovett he doesn't hesitate to sprout an enormous amount of lies, to call everybody stupid who tries to doubt his nonsense a little bit. I could list dozens of pure lies of this stranger (and I have virtually stopped reading his stupidities) - and I have told him many of them before: no impact. He prefers to go on with his agenda obviously full of pure hate (probably also against himself). I can't find another reason for someone to write such an enormous amount of complete bullshit to just support a simple runer who competed some 40 years ago.
Does Coedeppe really believe that Ovett, Coe, Cram are the best answers for some possible 3000m Olympic champions in 1980, 84 and 88? I start to believe: yes, he really seems to be obsessed that much (and for sure he is not capable to think logically and also is not very well informed about the subject he spend half his life with).
Ovett was capable to break the 800m WR by 1 second, the 1500m WR by 4 seconds and the 5000m WR by 17 seconds in 1978? Maybe that's the reason why he was very pleased with a successfull attempt to break the European Mile record: 3:52.8 in Oslo after the Europeans. Because he (in for sure better conditions) easily could have run around 8 seconds faster.
What's wrong with all these brits who can't stop arguing that there beloved heroes COULD have done almost everything IF just... Really, what's wrong with them? Why are here no Czechs who can't stop telling the world that Emil Zatopek actually was a 13:10 guy (with better shoes). Why no French try to convince the world that Michel Jazy could have run 3:45 in the Mile (and would have become the Olympic 3000m champion in 1960, 64 and 68). No Norwegian regularly tell us that Ingrid Kristiansen and Grete Waitz would habe beaten Almaz Ayana. No Germans here that try to convince everyone that Rudolf Harbig on a modern track would have run 1:41. And so on. Just the brits. What general problem do they have?
