90 seconds. "Ordinary" folks throw out these mile times and paces during conversation all the time. They just don't understand.

Probably a Cat 1/2/3 cyclist and he actually pulled it off.
My guess is 61 seconds.

On his bike, maybe.
Easily on his bike ;) Still if it's a guy in his 20's that is a dedicated cyclist (200+ miles a week) then I give him a punchers chance.

One time I was a party with alcohol, and there was a pudgy, stupid male human with a blood alcohol content of around 0.27% who told me that he ran 5 miles in 20:00 on a training run.
My response:
"Really??????????? You just ran 4:00 per mile average pace for 5 continuous miles without stopping on a training run . . . and . . . destroyed the World Record for 5 miles . . . by over 2 minutes . . . on a training run . . . by yourself???
Answer by pudgy and stupid male human:
1) Yes.
My Response:
1) "IN MY OPINION YOU ARE A REALLY STUPID AND FAT MALE HUMAN WITH A TOTAL BRAIN VOLUME WHICH IS EXACTLY EQUIVALENT TO THE TOTAL VOLUME OF AN UNCOOKED GRAIN OF BASMATI RICE."
2) "YOU ARE ALSO A PATHETIC LIAR."
3) "YOUR CEREBRAL CORTEX IS ALSO STUCK IN YOUR SIGMOID COLON."
4) "YOU SHOULD TRY TO MOVE YOUR TINY CEREBRAL CORTEX IN A CIRCULAR MOVEMENT AND IN A COUNTERCLOCKWISE DIRECTION TO SEE IF YOU CAN WIGGLE IT LOOSE."
5) "Did it wiggle loose???" . . . (silence from stupid and fat male human) . . .
6) "Answer "No. Your cerebral cortex is still stuck in your sigmoid colon . . . Oh well. I am sorry about that. . . . Have a nice day."

Treadmills in gyms typically have 12mph as top speed
My local YMCA has ones that go up to 14mph and the gym at my college had ones that went to 16mph. Treadmills often go over 10mph now a days.
Ok I’m pretty sure no typical Cat 1-2-3 cyclist is running 6 miles in 30 minutes. You would have to be an avid or previous elite runner to pull that off easily.
I’d wager some very serious money against him making it past 3k.
I was a pretty solid Cat 1-2 and I maybe could have made it 2000meters when I was a cyclist. My pretty good friend is one of the best domestic Pro’s in the US and isn’t a runner, but ran all out mile with me last year in 5:10 and was fully cracked. I’m not trying to take away from cycling...... I’m just saying that unless you are a very avid good runner Or possibly an ex-elite runner it’s impossible to run 12mph for 30 minutes on a whim.

You backed away quickly because he started to beat the sh*t out of your scrawny runner a**.
Yeah I'm gonna say 30 seconds. Probably a very fit guy who fibbed a bit and didn't realize how fast 12mph was.
I predict op will not return.
Are you going to tell us or not? I had to scroll through five freaking pages without an answer. Come on unless youre trolling us !
Riding 200 miles per week wouldnt make a cyclist capable of making it 3k at 12mph.
No serious cyclist can run even close to 6 miles in 30 minutes unless they were already a running prodigy before they started cycling.
There are a few cyclists who were amazing runners before they became rides so obviously they could, but were talking about PRO bike racers not Cat123 that is the hobby joggers of runners.
This is probably going to be even worse than the "corporate challenge guy" thread where the OP never returned. Anyone remember that gem?
.12 miles including the ramp up time... if you made him ramp it up and then jump on .09 miles... if his 'world' sport is something relatively running related and his age is over 27 but under 40, then I withdraw my guesses but would still cap my answer at less than 1 mile... anybody casually claiming to 'warm up' at 5 min pace has no idea how fast it is (Meb used to warm up around 6-6:30 pace I think?)
Went to worlds in triathlon. OP’s coworker is Lionel Sanders. Ran it with no problem but DNFs tomorrow’s 140.6.
I will parlay and predict this thread's page count x 7 will exceed the number of seconds he made it... assuming you ever tell us...
Although I thoroughly enjoyed most of the posts on this thread so far, it’s time for the answer.
I had a buddy that could do it while smoking darts
"Running 6 miles" is a a code phrase for sex. He finished in 12 seconds.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
