I like to listen to music when I run, but I don't like running with my phone. My iPod nano crapped out years ago. What do people use for auditory stimulation while running these days?

Have someone follow you on there bike. Have them wear a backpack. Put a Bluetooth speaker and a phone in the back pack.
Stereo system +car battery + running stroller = problem solved
This is how I run with music
Nice bonus is that I kind plug my headphones into the stereo and don’t have to be blasting my music for all to hear
My advice:
Buy an iPod Touch 32GB on ebay for $50-100
Use spotify off-lne download
Problem solved

I don’t think the built in speakers on the iPod touch will be loud enough, hence why my car battery, stereo system jogging stroller is preferred. Speakers are loud enough to hear and you can plug in headphones

seconded. I want one of these.
The Garmin Forerunner 645 also plays music, but only iHeartRadio and stuff downloaded to the watch. The newest Garmin Fenix appears to be able to play Spotify without your phone.
Apple Watch and Bluetooth headphones.
The Garmin 645 Music now also supports Spotify. Got one recently and it works like a charm.
I use the Sandisk Clip Sport 16GB myself. Would recommend.
iPod Shuffle.
Apple Watch. The cellular one can stream music and you can download music to the normal one (non-cellular). And it works great as a GPS watch with the Strava app.
