Do some research on Shola and Nnenna Lynch.

This is a BIG YEAR for inner city teams in Minnesota.
Minneapolis Southwest and Washburn boys team are really solid. Along with Wayzata, both teams are looking to be fighting for the 2 state meet spots. Whoever makes state out of that section will do really well there.
Southwest still has it after 3 seniors lost. The sophomores stepped up.
Washburn has the best team they had since 2015.
St Paul Highland Park is going for the double (boys and girls title) in AA!!!
Southwest’s top 4 nonseniors are 15:18, 16:11, 16:18, and 16:55 but the sad thing is their #5 nonsenior is 18:36.
I hope they find someone next year. That would be neat. They could challenge for a spot at NXN if they do. I know that Sam Scott will be a lock for it next year. But they will be up against Wayzata and Stevens Point. Maybe Heartland is getting stronger? Strong enough to get an at large next year?
Como Park and St Paul central look good too this year.
It means a poor urban area that’s typically highly black, but maybe is heavily Hispanic. It’ll also have high crime.

Poor students in schools with limited resources in areas not conducive to distance running.
Minneapolis Washburn makes state for the first time since 2015!!!!
But not expected to do much damage there. They got a nice 1-2-3 but their 4 and 5 are pretty far back.
If MPLS Southwest finds a fifth for next year they could challenge for a state title and an NXN berth
Jesuit is about right smack in the middle of New Orleans
Blanchet High School - Seattle, WA
Look at schools in downtown area Chicago.
Dowling is downtown Des Moines.
The term "inner-city" fell out of use in the mid 2000s. What does it even refer to now? With gentrification and rising urban property values, low-income people are getting pushed to the suburbs/exurbs.
Today at the MN state meet….
Aidan Jones (Minneapolis Washburn HS) won. Sam Scott (Minneapolis Southwest) got second
Minneapolis Washburn finished 6th as a team.
Aidan Jones and Sam Scott are the first Minneapolis public school boys to finish one-two at the state meet since 1955.
Minneapolis Southwest got 6th at Heartland for the second year in a row after losing 3 seniors.
They return 4 of their top 5 next year. Plus 2 more guys in the low 18s and a freshman who appears to be new to the sport but ran an 18:48 at NXR.
They will be extremely motivated next year after not making state this year
Could get top 2 at state next year
Aidan Jones (mn state champ from Minneapolis Washburn) missed an NXN auto-bid by 1 spot. If Dowling Catholic gets an at-large, Jones will get in because Dowling’s number 1 guy (heidesch) won the NXR race
Would Madison West WI be considered a inner-city team?
What about Bismarck ND?
Both are really good programs

If Southwest does close the 3-5 gap next year they could get top 3 at NXR and possibly an at-large to NXN given how much stronger this region is getting. Sam Scott should win state and make NXN individually next year though
Cambridge isn't inner city. It's the complete opposite - a nice (but very woke) suburb with no violent crime.

In my era, Cretin-Durham Hall, Saint Paul, MN was a solid city XC. The male team went to state numerous times.
