Why anybody would start this thread without the slightest bit of research into the conditions is beyond me. The conditions were bad enough on Monday, then it rained more Monday night and Tuesday was a disaster. The 5A boys state champ (who's committed to the University of Colorado, BTW) ran 14:52 for 3 miles this year (at City Park mind you, not Highland, which I'll admit I have my doubts about) and only managed 17:59 at state. St. Joe's had several girls under 18:00 at Highland this year and their best runner only did 21:22 at state. There was standing water all over the place. It was mud everywhere--not just parts of the course. Basically everything except the last 300 meters (on the track) were horrific. I've never seen a HS XC meet with conditions that awful.
