So far, she is doing great.
What will happen in college at Wyoming, where the competition is consistently intense.?
She set a state record of 2:15 for 800m. I don't consider that to be fast, but I am not clear on how to adjust that for the altitude.
She is in a weak state for track and for CC, which allows her to gear up for big competition.
When I was running HS, I knew of a runner that trained 3 times per day several days per week, running 16 mile days by running into school, running at lunch, and running home . He ran well, about 9:05 for 2-miles, and then not much after HS.
Her 4:56 for a 1600m is very good, but a female runner that I knew (her mom brought her to train with our HS coach when I was a senior and this girl was in 8th grade) ran as a freshman the state meet double of 10:40 for the 2-mile and 5:02 for the mile.. This girl burnt out by her junior year, having been in big competitions since she was in 6th grade (she used to hold the 12 year old indoor 2-mile record, or under 12 record, something like that).
