So the best runners in the world are now masters athletes? Nothing to see here.

I've seen that picture before and chuckled because, to me, he looks the same age then as he does today. I don't think the guy is 40, but if he is, I'm incredibly impressed someone that age can run a WR at any distance.
Anecdotally, I knew a guy in college that I would have sworn was 50+ and he was early 20s. I knew a guy in high school that easily passed for late 20s and he was mid teens. On the other end of that spectrum I've seen guys in their mid 50s I would have sworn were early 30s. /shoulder shrug

So you have nothing new to say except for accusing every fast Kenyan of doping? Nothing to see here.

I referred to masters athletes. The issue is age, you cretin, not nationality. But, hey - if the cap fits. Explain how athletes can peak and become the best in the world as they become middle-aged.

Yes, at least 7 years over stated age. He was not 18 when he won the world champs 5k...
Correct. He's 47
El Keniano don't mind the idiot trolls here. I for one think your great. I know we got off at the wrong foot and have had our differences but I want to be your friend. Bekele will always be the greatest. I know that is hard because he isn't Kenyan but literally from Ethiopia. I will forever believe this. I don't want it to come between us and I certainly don't want idiots here to annoy you.
Whatever the actual number, Kipchoge is one of those guys that looks a certain age, and then doesn't age for 30 years. He looks exactly the same now that he did 15 years ago.
Similar to Morgan Freeman, Samuel L Jackson, or Keanu Reeves. I'm pretty sure Morgan Freeman looked 40 at age 25 and then looked 40 at age 60.

None of the above have been in the business of setting world records at 40.
Yes, Kipchoge is around 40. I've been saying this for awhile. A drug-fueled paced 2:01 mary at age 40 is WAY more feasible than beating el G at 18.
Age cheating is rampant in Kenya. The current crop of Kenyan "teen" phenoms (Rhonex, baby Manangoi, etc) are in their mid-20s. Age-cheating is common in this culture, and goes hand-in-hand with the outrageous drug use. I would disregard literally every elite East African performance for the past few decades.

as an 18 year old myself... yes he looks 18. most all of my friends are aged 17-20 and kipchoge looks in that age range in this photo.

No he looks 40
There is no way he’s over 40. It’s literally not possible that he broke the world record by almost 90 seconds at 40. That’s a stupid assessment that lacks common sense. Bernard Lagat (who whooped Kipchoge for years in the 5k on the track) is 43 and it shows; he’s not running at his best now or reciprocating his 5k results to the half marathon. Probably won’t be faster than 2:12 on Sunday.
Also Zane probably wants attention, given that he hasn’t really done anything notable in a couple of years.
Is it cheating, and not just bad record keeping? He might have a birth certificate, but who knows if that's even real, or accurate. Or if one even exists at all.
I hope he's like 50.. makes me think I still have a shot at running a PR!
I love how people that accuse Africans of age cheating also don't acknowledge that their accusations grant them age-defying longevity.
