"For real people! 40 is not old! The former WR holder and Current both over 40 years."
I'm not that surprised.

Yes, at least 7 years over stated age. He was not 18 when he won the world champs 5k...
Kipchoge would have to be over six years older than his listed age (to turn 34 on November 5). He ran pr's in 2004 at 1500/5000 in 3:33/12:46.53. If his real birthdate were 11/5/78, he would have been 25 when he ran those pr's. He only has results on IAAF from 2002 and 2003 when he would have been under 24 and under 25. He ran 13:13 in 2002. He does look quite a bit older than 33 now. Haile also looked considerably older than his stated age when he broke the WR, and he also arrived very early on the scene with regard to his listed age and also held on an incredibly long amount of time.
Do you think he looks 18 here?
Is it even more impressive that someone +40 years old can run the marathon in 2 hours 1 min 39 sec?

Definitely not 18 there. Imagine a dude that walked into your high school that looked like that. Wouldn't you be like, "what's this man doing here? Are you our substitute?"
Bekele looks like a kid compared to him in this picture.
I disagree. I’ve seen kids 18 or under look even older than that, so this proves nothing. There’s people who look anywhere from 18-26 years old simultaneously
This guy ... ?

What? He's more Kenyan than you. He actually lives there, unlike you. He actually lives and trains with Kenyans.
The "there's no way he's 18 here" logic is nonsense. Look at a typical US boys track team; you'll have 18 year old seniors who look 13, and 14 year old frosh who look 30.
Trust me, I was one of those "there's no way you're X" kids (there's a pic from my conference meet senior year where I literally look 11-12 years old.
That said, given the seeming lack of commitment to flawlessly accurate birth records in some East African countries, Kipchoge being +/- 2 years either way would surprise me, well, not at all.
Whatever his age, he's a human being who ran 2:01:39. Typing that time is still crazy

Disrespecting Eliud like that and accusing him of lying. I wish he'd kept his word and left for good in 2016 when he was talking s*** about Kenya and Kenyans. Can't stand him.
Eliud says he was a teenager in Paris and the tiny, skinny kid with a missing a tooth in this video (skip to 10:30) looks like most Kenyan teens to me.

He lives and Kenya and is close friends with some of them who let the cat out of the bag about his actual age. P.s. Jake Roberson is married to a Kenyan, so don't give us any SJW BS over this issue.

Where did you hear this? From that kiwi idiot? He doesn't speak for Kenyans and I hate how everyone in takes him as an expert on all things Kenya when many don't even open up to him. Kenyans in remote places are required by law to register all births with the local area chief. Seriously, if he has to be in Africa, Ethiopia is a fine inviting country with fantastic runners, great climate and wonderful people. I can't understand why he didn't stay there and why he continues to live in a country he clearly resents.

Another thing. He is NOT Kenyan.

So, why take his word over Eliud's? Wait, you don't need to answer that ...
If it was a non issue why would Kenya have to do this?

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/26174252Yifter the shifter said he didn't know his age and that the age he claim was just a guess. So cute the BS.

I don't know why Eliud wouldn't admit to lying about his age. . . maybe it has to do with this:

Sorry 20-somethings. No jobs or future for you, and not even athletic peaks anymore. You'll have to wait.
@ el k, age cheating is totally not a problem in Kenya. And white people only bring it up because they are bigoted or something.
