I’ve wondered this too actually. A car actually gives out more Co2 emissions when it’s starts up than when sitting idle. Doesn’t this have the opposite outcome of what they’re trying to accomplish?

It is mainly for emissions reduction but your engine wears out twice as fast. Plus really taxes your air conditioner starting and stopping like that. There is a button you can select that keeps your car running.

That's not the case with modern engines which get 3-4 more mpg for start and stop city driving in this mode. My wife drives our car this way. I drive in sport mode which switches it off and gives better responsiveness.
EVERY Toyota hybrid does this. EVERY future Toyota will be hybrid. No, it doesnt tax engine, a/c, etc....only brain cells.
It would be like turning your kitchen light off when you go to the bathroom, then 2 minutes later turning your kitchen light back on, then doing this 20 times a day. Of course the problem might be going to the bathroom 20 times a day

It seems to me that the starters must have improved tremendously. I remember them breaking in the 80s and 90s all of the time.

Woke is doing a trivial task to change the world (if everyone else does it), and not caring that the task actually doesn't have the influence that it is perceived to have. And then continuing to do the task to demonstrate ones caring even though it doesn't matter.
The crank bearings are the weak spot in stop starting . They made them stronger and the starter plus battery had to be better.

Can we please start using "Woke" correctly? I love using the word to insult others when it's applicable. But if we start throwing "Woke" around for everything, it gets diluted and loses its impact. Being a fan of hybrids has nothing to do with being Woke. Woke is properly used as an insult to those fools who inject claims of racism to explain away facts or circumstances that they wish weren't true or to advance erroneous theories and flawed policies that they think are advantageous to black people. It's got jack-all to do with promotion of hybrid engines.
It's important to remember that liberal policies are about feelings right now in order to impact the next election.
They never actually solve any problems and generally only make things worse.
