When training for a thon, lots of Tiffany and Vanilla Ice. For long runs of 5 miles or more, Brittany Spears really gets me jacked

Earbuds are uncomfortable or don't stay put if you are doing your runs at sub-6 mile pace. And who would want to drag unwieldy electronic devices around with them at that kind of pace. Let me know if you can find a solution to this problem.
you pound too much on your runs if earbuds can't stay put sub 6...Running is supposed to be smooth
More like you need to pay attention to your surroundings and not plug up your ears when running at that kind of pace, whether in an urban environment or on dirt trails. You need to focus on your tempo runs, listening to your footsteps and breathing.
Earbuds should work for slower, easier long runs though.

As hard as you are trying to not sound like a hobby jogger right now, you actually sound like even more of one.. A true elite doesn't need to rely on the sound of their footsteps or breath or surrounding to run well and fast. Thats why us REAL elites wear the earbuds to train us not to be dependent on such things..
Instrumental polkas and marches. Mexican ranchera music like norteño and banda. Anything upbeat with a steady rhythm.
Sorry white boys but I'm from the barrio and have my Latin tastes lol.

Boom, elite wannabe ego shattered.
Have you ever seen David Rudisha in his finest hobbyjogging look?
https://www.nation.co.ke/sports/athletics/David-Rudisha-resumes-training/1100-4789802-7hemh5/index.htmlThe more you try to look elite, the more of a clueless noob you are. This applies in real life too.
None.
I like to be aware of my surroundings both positive and negative.
If you're a female running in the dark early morning or at night this is even more critical.
I listen for cars. I like being alive.

+1
I listen to porn.
Porno for Pyros
Wildlife.
I live in a wonderfully woody area that backs up to a state park with endless miles of trails. Nothing like getting back to roots with running through the woods with nothing but native animals and your thoughts.
Depends on my mood. I seem to listen to hard rock more in the fall/winter and reggae/jazz/pop in the summer. The spring is usually classical or modern instrumental
