In the summer when I run I usually just wear some shorts to just above my knees. But now it's around 30 degrees and wondering what would be best to wear.. It's going to be getting colder and colder, it can get to -30 in the winter with the windchill.. Last winter I would just wear 2 pairs of socks, 2 pairs of athletic pants, maybe 2 sweaters with a long sleeve and t-shirt underneath and hat and gloves but that pretty bulky lol.. It's not quite that cold yet though but still it went from 80 to 30 degrees in the course of just a month it sucks I'm not ready, I went and bought some thermal leggings and a long sleeve tonight.
Do any of you wear long johns when running or are all of you wearing those runner tights? I've never worn running tights or invested in any proper cold gear before.. I thought about it during the summer but I don't know if I'm brave enough to wear tights in public, I like these long johns though they fit my legs/glutes like a glove I like the feeling now I know why women like wearing yoga pants. Would running tights keep me warmer than wearing a pair of long johns under a pair of slightly baggy athletic pants?
