Goal: Awaiting New Training Plan from Acme Inc.
Realized belatedly that I forgot to post my training last week. Here it is - bit of a rough patch, came down with a cold, but on the plus side my PF flare-up cooled off some.
M 41 Robert’s Hill trails easy including 4 x the old sledding hill. Cool, raining, felt tired starting out but fine once I got going. The sledding hill is a pretty steep climb, maybe 200m long. At this point, just steady chugging up and nice and easy down.
T 1:12 with trolley track plus park loop steady and 4 x strides. Mild, humid, somewhat tired but generally felt like I was running fairly well – park loop at the end took a little work, though, and was starting to feel the PF a bit at that point – easy trails tomorrow, and think I will hold off on extending the steady runs for the time being.
W 1:24 Fitzgerald Lake trails easy. Mild, rain, wet in the woods, but not really coming down that hard during the run. Felt kind of tired at first but better once I got going.
Th 57 with 3 x park loop of fartlek strides (on step count, 60 quick/120 jog, which works out to something like 100m/100m). Daughter home with a cold – up through the night, so I didn’t get a lot of sleep. Felt tired getting going but pretty good after the first couple of strides.
F 27 shuffle – crunched for time, short on sleep, fighting a cold.
Sat 33 shuffle – Came down with my daughter's cold (surprise, surprise), not horrible but sick enough that it didn’t make any sense to push things.
Sun 40 easy – hot, still not feeling great.

M 47 very easy - still trying to kick the cold out.
T 1:44 through the park to Robert’s Hill trails and back with 5 x sledding hill. Rain, heavy at times, river pretty wild - could feel the bridge shaking when I crossed over at Crook's Dam.
W 54 with 3 x park loop fartlek strides (on step count - 120 quick/60 jog/60 quick/180 jog). Warm, legs a little heavy getting going but warmed up ok
Th 1:33 Earl’s Trails – Tinker Hill easy. Scouting run starting to find my way around a new trail network, pretty fun but very confusing – navigation fail coming back.
F 17 shuffle – travel. Very short run, very long day.
Sat 42 very easy – getting legs back under me after being on the road yesterday and not sleeping well.
Sun 1:17 with 6 x park loop steady plus 4 x strides coming back. Pleasantly cool but started out feeling pretty sluggish - dealing with hay fever. Things got better as then run went on, and worked my way into a decent groove for the last couple of trips around the park.
