Taking thyroid supplements for weight loss, metabolism boosting and energy helps with looking “incredibly lean.”
All of NOP is put on these meds (courtesy of Dr Brown) and don’t even feel ashamed.
I wish all TUEs and relevant prescriptions were transparent.

But the "article" is just copy/paste of her instagram? It does not seem that they have even interviewed her.. not trustworthy at all

What all types of foods do you eat, how, when, how much and where? Details please.
Surely this is the greatest claim to authority in the history of Letsrun, possibly of the entire interweb.

You know that's Hannah Fields not Jordan Hasay, right.
I hope Jordan gets back out there.
Fast, beautiful, intelligent... and CLEAN.
Ok, I owe txRUNNERgirl an apology. My reply to her was way too snarky. So to be clear: I'm not saying she's ignorant or stupid on the subject of EDs and running. In fact, I'd say she's done as much as anyone here to call attention to the problem. She's been especially good about explaining carefully and thoughtfully what's wrong with much of what we "know" about EDs and running. She's even been willing to talk about her experience, which is admirable.
My only point was that it's not obviously true that professional runners can't have eating disorders. Hannah Fields is a pro, and she's struggled with EDs.
As far as Jordan Hasay, I have no clue whether she's got an ED. We'd have to know a lot of details to say for sure either way.

Of course. My point was a simple one: As a matter of fact, it's not true that you can't have an ED and be a professional athlete.
The TMill shows maybe 1100-1200 calories burned per hour of running, so you figure that 2 hrs per day of running gives an extra 2200-2400 calories to burn, plus basic 1700 or so, puts you at 3900-4300 calories per day. So, this is about right.
However, and this is no commentary on her, it is possible to eat a lot of calories and be bulimic, as was a classmate of mine in college.
Full stop to all of the men on the Hasay threads. Step back. Stop posting. We don't care about you think Jordan looks or her eating habits or how much she weighs. Do less. Full stop.
((mods -- seriously do better. LRC will be dead in less than 10 years if you maintain your status as the alt-right running news source.))

Definitely... you don't weigh 80-90lbs if you eat 4,000+ calories a day. Just ain't happening.
The stupidity here is astounding. Hasay does not have an ED. She would not be a professional athlete if she did. She would not have the running career longevity she has had if she did. And yeah, with the amount of exercise a pro athlete like her does, I 100% believe she eats that much. Actually if she ate less, she'd gain weight/lose muscle because her metabolism would slow down.
I don't believe Jordan has an eating disorder, but I can clearly understand why people are suspicious of someone who weighs less than 90 lbs and eats over 4,000 calories a day. Under normal circumstances, 85 pounds is considered anorexic for an adult female; however, Jordan is not normal. If you have a high metabolism, you can burn over 1000 calories a day doing nothing. NOP athletes spend the equivalent of workday working out. You can burn 2,000 calories from a workout consisting of a warmup, stretch, 15-mile run, cooldown, plyometric and resistance training. Now that leaves another 1000 pounds; the only thing I can surmise is that when you finish working out your body continues burning calories at a high weight. I can also surmise she is getting a lot of her calories from high carb and protein shakes. With all of that said, I still find it difficult for such a small body to consume over 4000 calories every day, but it's mathematically possible.
That amount only seems crazy because most runners, pro or otherwise, don't eat enough. Even without an ED, it's easy to be under-fueled when you live among "normal" people. Maybe 4000 isn't enough for Jordan, but that doesn't mean she has an ED.
Everyone is different, with different metabolisms, body compositions and builds, so there isn't exactly a one-size-fits all number of calories, especially for an outlier like Jordan. But she's burning calories running, lifting and recovering. Plus perhaps she's on supplements that affect her metabolism.

i was a 400m - 800m runner in college and have been racing 10k's, HM's, and marathons the past few years and if I don't eat 4500-5500 calories a day I lose weight and muscle mass. I'm 6'-1" 160-165 lbs
I only run 50-60 mpw and have this demand.
different body types, rates of recovery, and metabolisms. It's unwise to assume what happens to your body is going in other athletes, dude.

I'm a close friend to the Hasay family, I work for her Dad. Part of her problem the doctors believe is due to the fact that she is still growing. She grew an inch an one-half just over this past year. And no, she does not have an eating disorder.
Not saying she does or she doesn't have an ED, but anyone who thinks you cant run successfully for a long time with a full blown eating disorder, is very, very, wrong. It'll catch up to you eventually, but it's crazy what your body can tolerate. Either way, calcaneal fractures don't come from overpronation, definitely overtraining.
I don't see where being star distance runner is really all that great.

I met the Hasay family at an age group meet many years ago and dined with them at a restaurant after the meet. She was 12 or 13 and about 80 pounds them. I recall watching her eat a very large meal and her mom commenting that she eats a ton and never gains weight. Obviously, she was just a kid back then and wasn't running a lot of mileage, but perhaps she does have an extremely high metabolism.
