Could any boxer in history beat Tyson when Tyson was at his prime. Tyson was both very fast (became heavy later in his career), and his punch was probably the strongest (I cannot remember any boxer managing to come back to the fight after a good blow from Tyson). He could also take punches and still fight.
A bunch of heavyweights have been heavier hitters than Tyson. Ron Lyle, Ernie Shavers, Gerry Cooney, George Foreman, Sonny Liston are just some that jump to mind. Young Tyson had speed, good defense, and a superb punching power, and he scared people, but he couldn't handle taller fighters with strong jabs (Douglas, Lewis) or a guy with the skills of Holyfield and he never gave evidence of having a particularly strong chin. A prime Foreman would have destroyed him. So would have Larry Holmes who had the jab. Ali would have laughed at him.
