We were saying "Just Do It "years before nike was. I think they stole it from our state banner. We also had "Go For It " before Schlitz beer. Now Forty Acres and a Mule. That's not ours.

Agreed. Nike has just craped on our flag and the vast majority of cops who do a great job. Boycott!
It is amazing to me how upset people get because some guys who play football, and one guy in particular, decide to kneel during the national anthem... seriously, I am amazed. It just shows that some people want to be mad and upset about something, anything, in life.
In the scheme of things, kneeling during the national anthem rates right up there with which pair of socks you should put on in the morning.
Get

it!
Ummm, when kids start copying "one guy", it's a bit bigger than your irrational/denialist perspective. This "one guy" wore pig socks in a game. That is the epitome of unprofessional, and unbelievably disrespectful to many who are truly good servants of our communities.
Anyway to combine the 2 threads about the same subject?
We merged the two threads into 1.

Ummm,
why should I care.? I can just ignore him if I think he is unprofessional...
this nation was founded on the principle that we have the right to exercise our free will as long as we are not harming others... the football player you hate so much because he kneels during the national anthem and once wore pig socks (which few people even know about) has the right to do that because, well, it's his right and he is not harming anyone... even, ummm, you.
your anger is misplaced and if you all just ignored the guy he would go away... really, he would ,because he wouldn't have an audience. Get over it.
I can't wait to attend a college football game on Saturday and listen to all the right wingers expressing fear about this. The thread itself has already been a bonus, with the fearful reference to CNN
Fear is so attractive. No wonder that side of the political aisle is growing so rapidly and steadily
I find it interesting that Kaep is claiming that he was blackballed by the NFL, when Elway replied, under oath, that the Broncos offered him a job.
Colin Kaepernick has become a worldwide icon. Good move by Nike. Won a lot of people over.

Let’s see... police brutality against blacks is a problem, so let’s make a poster about it so we can sell more shoes. Nothing like making a buck off the backs of victims.
Nike could open a manufacturing plant here, hire minority men and women and pay them a living wage, but I’m sure that “Kap” poster will accomplish so much more.
Too well thought out, not enough outrage. You must be in your 40's.
So many butt hurt people cause some guy wont stand up properly when you play a song
Americans are funny...not ha ha funny
Land of the free and all that.
I think the problem with all this will come to an end when we see more cases like the one in Dallas County.
Police officer Roy Oliver was found guilty of murder for shooting unarmed 15 year old Brandon Edwards and sentenced to 15 years in jail.
Sorry , Jordan Edwards
Not American and football sucks so I don't really have a side on this but i find it kind of hilarious that all the people who protest against this guy are actually helping to earn him millions of dollars. Good job guys!

Fixed it for you!

Why appreciate mercenaries for the state?
Remind me again how they protect our disappearing liberties?
Why respect some cloth?
This is how people end up in totalitarian states.
Blindly following and respecting the milliatry, police, law and the state is a very dangerous mistake.
In the Jesse Owens movie The 2nd Place Long Jumper Luz Long told Owens he did not like Hitler and did not like what was happening, Yet he still got on the Podium and gave the Nazi Salute, I guess Kaepernick had more courage (Even though he is wrong to attack his own countries Symbol) in going against President Trump then Long had going against Hitler. Long should NOT have used the NAZI salute on the podium if he was truly against what was going on, even if it meant losing some sponsors.
I wish Long had Kaepernicks courage (As wrong as I think he is) If Long had defied Hitler maybe others would as well and There would not have been WW2. Who knows how things will play out, Maybe if enough players kneel It will end ALL Police Misconduct in the USA, and the criminals will stop doing crimes, and our crime rates will be lower than Japans is again (Japan has had a lower crime rate than us for like 20-30 years.)
Very good. He made the truth of america visible for the world. A bunch of nationalistic fearmongers who even dont have the freedom to decide on their behavior towards a song

Japan's crime rate is so low because they don't have any children to commit crimes (let alone children growing up in single parent houses).
LRC doing much better with this thread than I would have guessed. If you want to hate on Colin K I hope you have ideas on how we can address police brutality and I hope you care about how poorly we treat vets when they come home. I have never understood the disrespect we show vets by tokenizing them during sporting events. We all cheer and say we support them, they go off to war, and then they come home and do not have the services they deserve.
Nike is smart. They've done their research. Their demographic is the future. Young people support Colin K and will continue to buy Nike gear. A few older white people who are boycotting will probably still accidentally buy some Nike in the future since their stuff is everywhere.
If you are boycotting please send me your Vaporfly's. You have no use for them anymore and best not wear them at your fall marathon.
