If one were to go down, it would be detrimental at the national level only. GLIAC and Regionals still wouldn't even be close with the amount of depth they have.

I am not a troll, although I've been called one on here before. But those people who label me as a troll also tend to be wrong because I know what I'm talking about. It may be controversial (yes, maybe I exaggerated Gv's high intensity training) but it is still true, one of GV's top guys goes down and the GLIAC and even the region is up for grabs.
Hate on me all you want. But, you wont be calling me a troll come November.
Maybe?? Bro they haven't been on the track all season, let alone "High intensity track workouts". You didn't just "maybe exaggerate", you completely falsified.

Looks like a few GLIAC teams will be at the MSU Spartan Invite this weekend. Should give some good insight on where teams stand. Anyone know if GV will run their "A-team"?
SVSU and GV didnt run their full A teams, they will both probably run their full A teams this weekend at Lewis. Spartan did show how bad MTU is. They were hyped up on the ranking but its clear that they have no shot at SV or GV.
Its sad how bad the GLIAC is. Any of the top 4 GMAC teams, Cedarville, Walsh, Malone, and Hillsdale could beat SV and absolutely obliterate MTU and down. They might even have a shot at getting close to GV.
Tech has multiple men sitting out this season due to co-op/internship opportunities, they return all of them next year. -shrugs- They're working with young kids in the mean time. That being said, they've traditionally not raced well Spartan weekend which lines up with first rounds of exams for their school. The women are pretty good this year. On the topic of GV, you're delusional if you think anybody from the gmac can hold a candle to them. It's true that the gliac isn't the same conference that it once was but I hesitate strongly to call it bad. All teams go through ups and downs. Ferris for instance was very good once Piccuci had put a few years into the program.
Good points from old-dog.
How did that SVSU beatdown by the GMAC turn out? Actually Walsh (the class of the GMAC this year) was well back of SV and even with Hadley racing would not have beaten them. And SV didn't have a particularly great day. Malone, Cedarville and Hillsdale won't be anywhere near SV at regionals. GV will win, SV second, Walsh third, and Malone and USI should be fighting for the 1-2 at-large bids. Hillsdale could have an outside shot racing on their home course.
The GLIAC and GLVC are a bit down this year and the GMAC is no doubt the strongest conference in the Midwest. It's kind of nice to have three competitive conferences, a far cry from a few years back! Next year the balance of power in the region may swing again. Several very young teams in the GLIAC this fall.

Sorry, this seems very short sighted to me. Everyone knows that the GLIAC is on its way out. Every year they will lose a member until the conference simply does not exist. Walsh, Malone, Hillsdale, Tiffin, who's next? Hell, the GMAC is even starting to outclass the GLIAC in football. I have no loyalties with either conference so I see it as a tragedy.
As for your regional predictions, GV and SV are pretty solidly 1-2. As long as they stay healthy.
USI is garbage this year and the only reason that they haven't fallen out of the rankings completely is because their coach makes the rankings. They didn't show their cards until Lewis... and I don't blame them with a full-squad performance as bad as that... Replace USI for that 3rd spot with Malone, Cedarville, or Hillsdale.
Believe me folks, this is entirely FAKE NEWS. GVSU will win the region and everybody knows it. The GMAC has been stealing our teams and athletes for years. It is SAD folks, believe me! However, they are still a failing conference compared to the GLIAC. The success of the GLIAC is absolutely YUGE compared to the losers and haters in the GMAC. The GLIAC won't be losing any more teams, we will be bring more teams into the GLIAC. The GLIAC will be great again!
Also, the GLIAC has 2 of the top 3 football teams in the nation. Nobody remembers the last time the GMAC was relevant in football.
The meet's in 2 days! Who are your picks for the top 5 individuals and teams?
1. Panning
2. Woldermichael
3. Goforth
4. Chada
5. Patrick
MTU with the upset over Wayne State???
Big step up from Reichel on the men's side. Their team next year will be very good with returning the young kids much stronger and more battle tested. Gaining Pahl and the other older runners makes them a different team next year. In other news, wow was that quite the poor performance from Ferris. I know they haven't been good this year but I was expecting some improvement for this meet.
