not sure what broken link you trying to post, but let me help you out.
calling someone a 'victim' of a shooting doesn't mean they died. It means they were shot.

I guess reading comprehension is not strong for some.
https://fas.org/sgp/crs/misc/R43004.pdfThe United States' Congressional Research Service defines a "public mass shooting" as one in which four or more people selected indiscriminately, not including the perpetrator, are killed

Which is exactly why the government doesn't use the word "victim" in this context.... too open to malicious interpretation.
But for political nutters, they use terms for whatever they prefer, confusing more themselves that others of course.
But if it bleeds, it leads wrote:
OK, so now it's pinkie-fulls of people indiscriminately killed (2)?
Compare that to the 100x more killed by idiot road drivers today.
Priorities, people.
Closer to thumbs than pinkies.

I heard the shooter's name was Sam Hyde
Nope, name is David Katz.
Fox News claimed he was 3 weeks shy of age 21, when now it is claimed he is 24.
Who knows how much bogus info will arrive before they get it sorted out?
At least Jacksonville is not in Broward county.
https://www.inquisitr.com/5045086/david-katz-identified-as-jacksonville-shooting-suspect/The definition of mass shooting used for the Stanford database is 3 or more shooting victims (not necessarily fatalities), not including the shooter. The shooting must not be identifiably gang, drug, or organized crime related.
we can do this all day. What are you really trying to accomplish by arguing semantics when 12 people got shot?
that guns are safe?
Thoughts and prayers. Pray for the victims and their families. It’s too soon to discuss this. Thoughts and prayers.
The councilman who represents the district in which the shooting happened said he came to the scene as soon as he heard the terrible news.
"Jacksonville cannot run away from this problem. It’s time for Jacksonville to take up the gun violence issue,” said Jacksonville City Councilman Reggie Gaffney. “We have to pray hard. We have to come together to come up with a real solution.”
Gaffney said he’s frustrated and has been talking with the mayor and sheriff about Friday night’s shooting outside Raines High School that left a 19-year-old dead. “My solution is we really need to talk about God. I’m asking the faith-based community to step up, Gaffney said.
The Jacksonville Landing is an entertainment complex along the St Johns River, which includes restaurants and an indoor shopping mall. It was the site of a Donald Trump rally in October 2015 early in his campaign for the White House.
Why did he shoot other Madden players? if he went after cops, he'd be a hero to lots of america
I'm telling you, time and time again on these shooting threads.
Guns are NOTHING compared to the damage bombs can do, to the motivated. The numbers just don't add up, but a quick and easy fix.

Indeed, the nebulous "victim" word didn't appear in anything anyone said, until the "definition guy" injected it, and tried to twist up what happened to fit a narrative.
Maybe we need some mass video game playing at the shooting range?

It just goes to show you again, that with all the "mass shootings" that take place around the world, and add in perpetual violence in Chicago, Mexico, etc., that the greatest killers by orders of magnitude today are still despotic governments. Be glad you still have your freedom!
Forward-marching countries like China doesn't have mass shootings of course.
+1000
This is amazing. Thoughts and prayers should be somewhere in here but other than that it shows how white folks with money start spinning to maintain their power and control. None of this is wrong. We should ask ourselves why there are talking points like this every time a mass shooting happens instead of action designed to stop those mass shootings.
Thanks for supporting me!

The solution isn’t to put guns in everyone’s hands. That just leads to people shooting everyone who gives them a dirty look.
This is very interesting. I live in a major city that is armed to the teeth. Everyday, people interact all throughout the city, and countless interactions with CC permit folks who are practicing their permitted right. This city is VERY safe considering its size and population. Most violence on the nightly news, is domestic.
You irrationality is showing, beef.
The more people who have guns the more people that will use guns. There are gonna be more gun murders if 100 million people have guns than if 1 million people have guns (not saying that is how many people should have guns, just using numbers to point out the obvious which you apparently can't grasp).
The only common sense solution is to make it harder to get guns and to get rid of guns that serve zero purpose for civilians like semi-automatics which are the go to for mass shootings, thus the full rights of the second amendment are maintained and we make america a safer place. It just shows the irrational obsession that people have with guns that anyone would be against common sense gun controls. And yes there are plenty of people in this world who would pull a gun on someone simply for getting in a little fight. You see the recent incident where some guy shot and murdered someone who pushed him over? Granted the other guy shouldn't have pushed him in the first place, but because this guy had a gun, he escalated a push to a murder. As soon as he hit the ground he pulled his gun and even as the pusher moved a few steps back from him he still shot the guy in cold blood. That is what happens when people have guns, they use them.
this is hilarious...ly true
Another white guy, another shooting.
Build the wall!
We have to keep white people away from white people, they're too dangerous to white people.
