CIM's a good idea. The downhill and tailwind will help her leg speed. It's perfect.

Twin Cities
It's an off year. Jorgensen doesn't need to beat herself up this fall racing a full Marathon. A straight(er) shot from downtown Mpls. to St. Paul. Twin Cites 10 mile.
Yeah. These things are so hard she only target one per lifetime

I have been wondering who will run for the elites in Twin Cities, as the marathon falls on the same day as Chicago's. Poor planning...
Right, you can't get the elites who want to run both a week apart.
i think it will be CIM also. She's been running the US Championship races on the roads this spring and summer, so this follows that trend. Plus, it's a chance for her to win, something she seems desperate for at this point.
I'll guess Indy.
Damn I'm howling! I love this website
Other than Hasay, Cragg & Threatt--I haven't seen anything on the women's U.S. entrants for Chicago.

Is Thweatt a threat at Chicago?
She needs marathon experience but she would waste her time at the US Champs. If she's actually serious about even making the team let alone being an Olympic medalist she needs to face that caliber of athletes. She only has 2-3 cracks at the marathon til the trials (I can only imagine her doing Chicago, because NY is so close to trials although Meb pulled it off). She needs to face Hasay, Cragg, Huddle, Flanagan, and Des one way or another. The trials will be here sooner than later.
I guess beating the people who have an outside shot at the US Champs might be a confidence booster, but between next year she'll only get to face some of her main competition at the trials because I doubt Boston will get all 5 of the above women next year. Someone will go to Tokyo or London, etc.

You could argue that if she really wants to win at the Olympics, she needs to be able to face the quality of London--that's the premier level.

The fall hobby jogging trifecta!
In all seriousness, those three are probably a sub-sub-elites best chance to run fast in the fall, other than Chicago and CIM.
I could see her going one of three routes:
1. Twin Cities - She's originally from there, she raced the ten miler before and has some familiarity with the course, and realistically could/should win it which is a good way for her to boost the confidence.
2. CIM - US marathon championships, decent chance she can win, decent chance she can run fast.
3. Tokyo - Mirror what Cragg did and shoot for a big PR.

In all seriousness, those sound like they'd be perfect for her. What would you classify her first marathon potential to be?
Sub sub elite?

Both Chicago or Ny would expose her for what she is. Not a top 5 American.
+1

She's talented do run a marathon and make a Youtube video at the same time. This should be an Olympic sport.
Don't jump hoops! To get to the Olympics she needs to get through Hasay, Cragg, Huddle, Flanagan, and Des one way or another FIRST, as the other person said.

Sub elite at this point. She would easily win those three marathons and probably set a course record in the high 2:20s. At CIM, probably could contend for a medal.
