I’ve recently run into people telling me just doing the long slow miles could make you slower than before? Is this true? Last year I ran inconsistently did an average of 20-25 miles a week with some weeks as low as 15 I ran 18:16 in trainers. This winter I did lots of 7 mile runs with a couple of shorter runs because of snow, ice, and below 0 weather I also missed quite a few runs as well. I ended up running 11:04 3200 indoors in March but my 800 was 2:08 so I never ran it outdoors again I figure I could’ve been at 10:30-10:40 I’m not typically speed based. Then this summer I ran 50-70 now I missed one day all summer because I got sick I ran doubles a lot of days and a couple times a week ran a full 10 at once. My question is has this potentially made me slower at all? What do you think I can potentially run?
