Before today, India had never won a global medal in track in anything. Now this woman has won gold.
Do we have another Dutee Chand/Semenya?

I've always wondered about a lot of the top athletes in women's sports - anyone remember the basketball player at Baylor. The reality is the top women often will have manly characteristics.
I don't know for sure if she does have it that's why I wish they would do a simple testosterone or genetic test. It's not invasive.
She does remind of Semenya in that apparently she's form a very rural area and arrived on the scene very quickly. Remember, it's not PC to say but it's often the result of too little variance in the gene pool (incest type stuff found in rural areas)

I think around half a billion Indian men would envy her jawline.
I just watched the final on the Olympic Channel and one of the very curious things I noticed is the 'visual appearance' below the waist. My attention was drawn there just a moment before she tugged at her shorts. That's all I say. Check the home stretch and post-race video for yourself.
Hmm....
Idk?
To me, she doesn't seem intersex, she just seems like a 'butch' woman. She looks quite a bit feminine as compared to the rumored intersex women in the 800m. She's more delicate looking, as well.
Idk, can't really say for sure, but if I had to bet money I would say no.
maybe or maybe not? wrote:

She looks like Marion Jones in this picture.
Serious question: why do the questionable girls always wear longer and baggier bottoms? They never wear buns like most of the other elite girl runners. Just saying.
You wish you could run as fast as her =)
Also remember your hero Seb Coe is a quarter indian.
Richard Nerukar is half indian.
I'm not seeing any evidence of hyperandrogenism in the provided pictures. She does have a strong
jaw, but that's hardly evidence of excess testosterone. But, it's India, and with their history, one would be
right to be suspicious.

The woman who performed the drug test can give you some insight, since she watched Das urinate into a cup after the final.
Himas Das looks appropriately soft.
It's unfortunate that her voice isn't that feminine, but the giddiness is very girly.
She is nowhere near Semenya range if she is hyperandrogenic.
It was way easier to celebrate the Indonesian male winner than this Indian female winner because there are no higher levels of competition than male, so he can't be misclassified.
Also unfortunate that because of Dutee Chand every Indian woman that comes close to succeeding in athletics is going to be scrutinized.
Eh. I’m not sure that looking strong is the standard. The standard is whether you are factually male or intersex. Neither group should be allowed to compete against women because that will destroy opportunities for women in the long run and actually lead to greater inequality and disparate treatment between the sexes. We really don’t want to return to an era where women don’t get to compete in sports. But, the more this transgender competitive balance problem goes unchecked, the further we get down the road to that happening
The problem with Semenya is that Semenya is not a biological woman. (Feeling that you’re a woman or pretending that you feel like a woman in a fraudulent manner to gain a competitive advantage doesn’t count.)
For example, she looks more feminine than Kabange Mupopo.

No. Do tell.
Maybe on the cream or clear, but not another Semenya in my view.
she doesn't look like a man to me from the pictures shown
Watch from 6.30 to 6.40. That is a very obvious package/lunchbox s/he has down there! WHY are we not whistleblowing this kind of anti-female ridiculousness. Real women deserve a chance!
Threads like this are why there should be a testosterone test. It's unfortunate for women but not invasive and in a day and age of Caitlin Jenners, we have no other choice.
