I thought this was a recent thread until I got to this post. I didn’t even have to look at the poster name or the date posted to know that I just stepped into a time machine. I am both happy and sad that you are gone, BB.

Same, nor has anyone in my family that i'm aware. We must take small poops.
Or you're just lucky to not have used one of the earlier ('80s?), poorly designed, low flush toilets. Even small poops can clog some of them.
I don't understand all this talk about plungers. Plungers do nothing. The most effective plumbing tool is the plain ol' poo stick. You can clean it with a/the flush.
With the advent of low flow water toilets is the accompanying narrow neck toilet.
I have never had issues with a poo stick for unclogging. More effective and faster than a plunger. Hell, you might even find one in your backyard for $0.
And yes, I keep it RIGHT WHERE I NEED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OP here. Spouse won on this. The plunger has been in the house for the past few years. You all made me see the error in my thinking.
Also, this summer he replaced the sewage pipe that goes from the house to the street. We haven’t had any clogs since that was done. We had a bunch of roots resulting in frequent clogs.
But you were originally right. I keep mine outside in the backyard. I usually toss it back out the bathroom window after I am done using it. Then I hang it on a tree branch furthest away from the house so it can disinfect over time until the next use.
Is the tip of the plunger motorized? Just the tip.

It is currently kept in a shed on the side of our house. He thinks it is weird not to keep it in one of the bathrooms and that no one keeps it outside of their house. I don’t want it in the house because it is germ filled, and why is it a big deal to get it from outside if a toilet is clogged? Thoughts appreciated.
My thought is you should lick it to see if it tastes salty. Glad you appreciate thoughts.

Obviously u have never had a toilet overflow. I had to run upstairs to get the plunger from the other bathroom and the other bathroom floor was flooded when I got back. U want it next to the toilet
How about a poop knife?
