Little Centro also got dusted--this year--by a 17 year old.

The 911 call ??? Is he 15 years old? Really, what is wrong with this guy? Out of all the champions named at this meet, who will do something as remotely trashy? NONE.
What's the matter with you? Centro is one of the best, most forthright interviews out there, treats the sport and the process with respect, and generally is a huge asset to track and field marketing-wise. A little bit of celebration is good marketing for the sport.
So the telephone call gesture is celebrating?
I guess it is an improvement over the throat slashing.

So if you win, you are exempt from being classy?
Sounds like a Trump follower...

Yea, he can run, very talented ,but not the classiest guy out there.
He's a great competitor, great racer. He's just not the smartest guy, and that's being kind. However, he does have OLY GOLD!

Actually it's libs who exhibit the trashy, hypocritical, self-deceptive behavior in all areas. And their self-deceptive behavior coupled with years of brainwashing and inability to engage in introspection never allows them to question just who taught them to be this way, or ask why they always have the same knee-jerk reactions. lol
Will the HS kid (Jakob) also call 911 when he next races against Centro?

Do you think it possible for you to be even more of a homechooled snowflake?

It's not like he ran 3:29.....he ran 3:43 against a weak field. Take that little act to Europe, Matty, and see how that goes.

I do like Centro and his personality.
But once you win an Olympic Gold medal it's a bit eye rolling to do a cheesy celebration after winning against one of the weakest US 1500m fields in years.
Especially after getting smoked at Pre, which probably was his most important race of 2018 with no world titles to win this year.
He's not in that same shape anymore. I think he's more or less excited about the progress he's made since coming back from an injury plagued 2017. A step in the right direction is definitely something to celebrate. This was a sign to show him he's back. Actually, I would argue that his Pre performance was just as good if not better, but no one cares about who wins Pre. Even in the other 3 championship years, Pre is 2 and a half months away from WC's/Olympics. Centro only cares about two things, US Championships and World Championships. At least know he's a little more focused on the AR.
Is the 17 year old an Olympic champion? National champion?

This is like the Warriors beating the d-league all star team.
so funny. Post of the weekend? Great stuff.
let me know when he comes close to Alan Webb's American record. Until then, I'll take a pass on watching him jog 3 laps and outkick people to run 3:4X and 3:5X.
Yeah it’s funny, but also:
1) it is a national championship. Some stars skipped it and are criticized. He shows up and is excited to win. Which do you prefer?
2) wouldn’t it be awesome to be compared to the Warriors, and have it be funny because it rings true?
I don't see anything to criticize about Centro's behavior at the end of the race. Some of you people are real malcontents.

I am Letsrun. I hate Galen Rupp because he has no personality. I also hate Centro because he has personality. Grr. I hate everything.
Yes! and I hate them because they have gf's and wives and are fast and successful and they make a living running and I suck at it.
And you know if runners don't celebrate when they cross the line that's why the sport is boring and no one watches and if they DO celebrate they're classless.
So I hate them.
Never been a fan of Jr and dad well that is a whole different level
did he really call 911? I thought it's illegal to call 911 if there's really no emergency.

But there was an emergency... A murder. He was calling to report a murder.
I'm thinking this is a 6/10 troll post, and I'll bite too.
Jeez you guys are stuck up. It was great, classic Centro stuff, and he should be excited about winning. You guys bash everyone for not going to USATF and bash Rupp and Co for not having personality, but when the USATF winner (or any winner) is excited the trolls and snobs come out. It was a weak field, so what? I don't see anyone here pooling money for the winners to encourage more runners to show up. Plus, this is one of the best ways to make track fun, and if you don't like it go back to the golf course so you can sit in silence and whine.
