Yeah, that's the only group in human history who that description fits.

Certainly not the greatest generation. Those MFers are solid.
Anyone who boomers helped raise, sure. THat would also apply to them.

the prior generation basically got "out of the way" between 55-65, which allowed the Boomers to take over relatively young. Boomers are going way past those years, and Gen X is getting passed over as a result. We're like an entire generation of Prince Charles.
Gen X can easily seize power by force.
For reference I'm somewhere between Gen X and Millennial. Yes there are ways in which Boomers made the world worse, and ways they made it better. But overall, ask people in which era they'd rather live: now or 1970? These groups would prefer now:
- Women
- Racial minorities
- Gay people
White straight men could be split but I certainly can't imagine going back to a world without internet so my vote is for now.
If 80% of the people (number pulled out of my butt) would rather live in a post-Boomer rather than pre-Boomer world, then on balance they didn't do too badly.
Also just in general: you all complain a lot. There are always struggles. It's your job to figure out how to deal with the struggles of your generation.
As for your "greatest generation," they cashed in all their good points from world war 2 with two more decades of bloodthirsty warmongering, imperial conquest, and colonial expansion. They're dying unrepentant, too.

Vote for me and I'll set you free!
No more responsibilities: free health care, marijuana and college, a guaranteed income at a no-brainer job and open borders.
Millennials, come up out of the cellars and Get on board the Bernie train.
Vietnam took the lives of many boomers. The boomers that avoided service are the ones running the show now.
To some Boomers the 60s and 70s was a period of childhood and high school. Parents influenced the equation on what was proper or just plain BS. For some they largely let life come at them and others leaned toward getting their own little fire started. Regardless one had to navigate the day manually, primarily via conversation. This seemed to change around the 90s somewhere. Most were not aware at this time the generational columns and stat sheets would soon become a thing.
Adjustments have been made. The sheer magnitude of what is available today to accomplish work is a wonderment. One can plug in and go in so many different occupations. The trick for some, or maybe most is the unplugging. Though many of us use to manually maneuver through life we have largely gotten away from it.
I do not disagree with some of what you have written. The Boomer generation plays a big part of how our society moves forward. Some pine for the way it used to be and this might be clouding sound judgement for future decisions. It would be nice to see some new faces and ideas. Generationally speaking go serve your 8-12 years and move on.
I do miss Hogan’s Heroes though.
