I cannot believe this thread is still going. My hat's off to the OP...given there is 0% he is a doctor...or that any of this is real.

I am a doctor and I cannot believe non-doctors are attempting to give me advice on how to best treat them.
Patients can ask all the questions they want about a procedure, but when they start questioning my judgement is where I get royally ticked off. I do not care what brand of hernia mesh your great Aunt think is best. And I’m not sure why you think her opinion counts.
$100 says this guy is a male nurse. You a pothead Focker?

Why do you assume the OP is a male? Stop perpetuating the patriarchy.
Holy sh*t! I'm a doctor but I'm afraid sir - you are just an as*hole.

Doctors do issue a lot of dope. Please stop pushing opioids, it's not cool. Same for other prescriptions, we know you get kickbacks from the companies.
In the 90's it was benzos, I remember how suicidal people got from your "anxiety" treatments. Killed poor Kurt Cobain.

That's because there hasn't been any good Jamin threads lately. ?
Barring a life threatening emergency, most surgeries are superfluous and a scam. Most doctors tend to be more arrogant and greedy instead of empathetic and compassionate.
Congratulations, you motivated me to never give your kind another cent.

Not to mention the western doctors which purposely prescribe drugs to patients and diagnose them with diseases. They are calibrating with the pharmaceutical industry to make money by inventing diseases and selling drugs.

"Don’t be foolish, take your doctor’s advice: Smoke a fresh cigarette."
Thank goodness patients today do have access to information on Google, PubMed etc. They can now relatively easily check whether their doctor is BSing them.

Good one. Look up the word irony. It has nothing to do with your iron levels.(I had to throw in something witty since this is a medical thread. ).
I already had a doctor earlier this year who wasn't concerned with patient satisfaction. Or even looking trhe patient in the eye, asking what the problem was, or asking how the patient was feeling, or giving any followup advice at all. One of those was enough.

I'm also sceptical you are a doctor but I understand the point you are making. A non-medically trained person has next to no chance of understanding the options that their surgeon must weigh. I've always thought it incredibly odd when my doctor pretends I can make these decisions. Well, sir, you have an acute case of ______ (insert illness I've never heard of). Would you prefer treatment XXXX or YYYY (both of which I've never heard of)? Thanks for asking me, doc, but you are the only one here qualified to make that decision.

WRONG.
Customers always have 100 percent choice.
They don't "have to" accept any treatment at all, nor do anything that's "recommended" by a quack.
In fact you're all much better off to always stay far away from them.
I personally never go to doctors, and am far healthier than most people my age who do, for that reason.
In fact many people who would be my age are already dead, due solely to constant treatments by doctors.

Individual doctors being able to cut their own deals with Big Pharm is awful for everyone, even the MDs getting free lunches, free dinners and other extras. In Financial Services Industry, eventually sh*t hits the fan. Every five to ten years markets melt. When I first started in industry I took free dinners and free lunches from mutual fund companies. I saw colleagues only offering mutual funds to clients after mutual fund reps bought dinner for advisor. I decided to be 100% clean. No lunch from mutual fund companies. MDs need to do the same. VA management negotiates prices with Big Pharm. In US, individual doctors are still allowed to cut their own deals with Big Pharm besides VA. Potential corruption for all.
