slightly sloppy and slightly floppy but both sides have had scoring chances.

WE would have won the World Cup that year......I kid you not. We had already beaten spain in the previous year and played a great match against brasil.
I'm not saying we (the USA) would have won the whole thing, but it's hard not to imagine a deep deep run (I'm thinking semis at least). That team would have been a menace to deal with if Davies was healthy. The mix of the physical, pace and holding ability of Altidore combined with the speed, technical aspect and confidence of a Charlie Davies along with Dempsey and Donovan in the withdrawn forwar/midfield roles. An in-form Oguchi Onyewu in CB. The speed of Jay DeMerit at LB (I think).
I wonder if Coach JS is watching the Sweden v. Switzerland game going on now.
Come on Svedes!
Besides Russia, is Sweden the biggest overachiever in this tournament? Emil Forsberg is probably their biggest name player and he plays for Leipzig.

I think Japan overachieved more than Sweden, but I'd be willing to reconsider if Sweden takes down the winner of England/Colombia.

That´s because we got rid of that big nosed gypsy.
Wow these guys from Columbia are tuff. One was able to knock an England b atch down for a boxing 10 count with a single tap while setting up the wall. Come on England is that what your about. My hot Columbian girl could knock the crap out of you.

I actually think Japan underachieved with the superb performance yesterday.
Anyway, either England or Colombia will be the overachiever.
England vs Colombia has been the worst game I've seen in the cup so far and is why soccer gets such a bad rep. So much drama and p***y farting over nothing. Play the god damn game you f******* drama queens......

Pretty dire isn't it! Imagine what it'll be like if Colombia fall behind...

In no way is this reasonable.

We may agree to disagree then.

I don't understand how both got in the 16.
Does anyone else think Sweden has the cutest uniforms and color scheme? I really like the kits.

Well, we're about to find out :/
No way this game ends with 22 players on the field.
Hell, it may not end with 3 refs...
after seeing the best game yesterday I too have seen the worst game today. Even worse than when france won the cup. I am done with soccer(football ). Kind of like I said I was done with letsrun.com years ago.
Since this game involves Jonathan Gault, I"m allowing a 2nd thread on the PK decision:

I agree. This is the type of game that would make a first time watcher never want to watch a second game.
