Bwahahahahahaha! That's hysterical. Totally wrong, in fact, depending on where you are and your natural sweat rate. Your hypothetical runner is clearly not running in, say, Florida, with very warm temps and near top humidity. I run in Florida during the summer and after about 2 miles, I start to lose almost a pound per mile. I can drink over 140 ounces of water during a 20-mile run and still be over 6 pounds down afterwards. I can do a 5-mile tempo run with no water and come back over 4 pounds down (which includes sweating for about 10 minutes after stopping).
