Agree. Climbing Everest is probably the equivalent of a sub 3 hour marathon. If you have some ability, the time to train, good conditions on race day and, in the case of Everest, enough money, then you stand a decent chance of success. Climbing K2 would be more like a sub 4 minute mile.
